I just finished this game a while ago. Fun, challenging but short

I thought it was considerably easier than the 2nd one, the hollow men are still a pain in the arse though. Still, if you are able to dodge them fast enough they end up hitting each other which is fun to watch!

Right now what's frustrating me is I can't walk more than 10 feet anywhere without running into a group of 5-6 balvarines.  Also those mercenary guys with the fireballs are awesomely annoying.

I know how you feel. The only tip I can give against the Mercs with fireballs is to stay far away and shoot him. It takes a really long time, you have to stand there for a full 5 minutes shooting at him before he goes down.
Pistols are useless in the game, I don't even know why they bothered putting them in!

Actually, I found the pistol, Holy Vengeance, to be quite a powerful weapon when fully upgraded. As for big-flame-merc strategies, I found a mixture of high-level melee and firearm attacks to be a very effective strategy, mostly because my first playthrough was with a firearm-focused character with melee skill and no focus at all in will beyond the bare minimum requirements to progress through the story.

Instead of raging on Lion Head's attempt at creating an experimental game instead of focusing on a worthy sequel, I will just leave you with a detailed article on the game's flaws. Could possibly have minor gameplay spoilers, be forewarned.

Lets hope their DLC will truly make this game shine :)

a SMALL payment of 1600 MS points? Jesus... and I just got some car trouble, and no money to fix it until a week or two from now... stupid videogames and this new DLC trend... can't afford to fully experience a game nowadays :pinched:

I can't take a post seriously when it headlines the title. Why it fails. Fails is a term most often if I am not mistaken in the "World of Warcraft" community often used to insult other members such as "fail noob l2play" however I was not aware of a demon door to give out gold once you are Prince.

I want to replay it. Despite what some think I will hold on true for me personally my opinion that is is a good game. I have not played any of the DLC yet. However I will wait a few months untill all the DLC is out and then play it again but this time protecting my town. Instead of giving away gold

I never spend much time in Aurora, i'm still finding mines in Albion!
Does anyone know what the building is on the very top of the map? I've not been able to unlock it yet. At first I thought it was Reaver's mansion.

It's accesible through Mourningwood. You need to go through the fort and stick to the north. It's not the passage blocked by fire. You could also check the Fable Wiki if this doesn't help you.

EDIT: And Fable III is a good game. Not a triple AAA game but still a good game. I'm looking forward to any DLC that may come for it.

I think Fable 3 is a small step up from Fable 2, maybe it was the hype of Fable 2 that let me down, I didnt follow the game that much this time.

The final stage (king) is rather disappointing, sure it throws in some tough decisions but it all happens to fast. ( BTW the decisions aren't so tough if you've got enough gold of your own). The dis-serviced themselves by having Reavier as the spoke person for all the wrong choices, the only thing I wanted to do with him by the end of the game was have him taken and excuted, not anything he suggested. They would have been much harder to choose between had both sides been coming form your allies.

Anyway, it's a good game, not great, not bad.

cdtrk65, you make an excellent point about Reaver speaking about all the bad decisions. True he became an influential figure in Bowerstone, but was he REALLY the ONLY anti-good choice lobbyist? I think there could have been more variety by showing opposite social groups rather than just typical-impoverished-citizen/rebel vs. Reaver. Only time I saw that was with the two decorators for the castle.

Speaking of Reaver... WTF is up with the plot-hammer on this guy??? I was SO looking forward to killing him in this installment of the Fable series, and not only was I disappointed that I couldn't hunt him down after becoming king, but then he serves an advisor role. I want to know why Lionhead has kept him alive throughout. It better have something to do with an extension the shadow threat that was shown in the game, as apparently Reaver is still making deals with the Shadow Court. I hoped for more glimpses into Reaver's past and more evidence of his regret, to see more of the kind man that is implied in Fable II that he used to be, but so far all I see is a punk who murders the utterly defenseless.

I was never really compelled to do evil in the game. In fable 2 you could killed a lot of people in order to recieve a Legendary Weapon. Here we don't have that. Hell, in Fable you could have murdered your sister.

Another thing is that i hate this new conversation aspect of the game and the fact that if you want to be more than just friends with somebody you have to do fetch quest or carrier quests. What the point of that.

Another thing i didn't like about the game was the file transfer from 2. I never got to chose which file i wanted to transfer over and the last save I had from 2 was when my male character changed his gender to female, but there aren't any references to that. Hell Reaver would have known that the Queen used to be a King.

Another thing I dont like is this new "upgrade" aspect of the game for your weapons. Man do I miss those augments. Hopefully if there is a Fable 4 they combine the two methods. Just imagine if something like the Daichi changed its form due to alinement.

I agree about Fable 1, with the choice at the end... like WHY THE HELL is killing Theresa an option, when she is your sister and did nothing but help you on the journey? Poor writing on Lionhead's part and an excuse to be unrealistically evil.

The conversation system annoys me, too.

As for save file transfer, there is a workaround for that: you either need to move all saves except the one you want to use to another storage thing, and move them back once you start a Fable III game with the save you want, or what I intend to try in the future is move my fable II saves around to different storage units and start/save fable III games on each storage device.

Augments are the shiznit. I miss 'em. Probably the only weapon I could upgrade due to my playing habits is Holy Vengeance. Also, just because I kick chickens, I'm evil? One of the weapons got a malevolent appearance just for that.

I'm trying Fable III with a few more characters in the near future just to give it more of a chance, but I felt annoyed after the glitches I experienced with my first playthrough.

Thanks I found it! I was even able to open up a demon door just for being Queen! I still need to find one more silver key that's hidden there... I have a sneaky feeling it has something to do with that gazebo and the statues in it...

I want a Reaver DLC. If Sparrow was able to take on the Shadow Court then why shouldnt their child. Is anyone hoping for an expansion or DLC on the levels of TLC?

According to this article they're making episodic DLC for Fable 3. [...] I don't know what it will be about but I hope it does have something to do with Reaver, I was really surprised when we didn't get the chance to kill him!

However I was even more surprised when I heard my character talk at the start of the game. That was a nice change!

This game is a Euro trash, rip-off, piece of **** game. I love it though, it was a big step from Fable 2. I am addicted. The BIGGEST BIGGEST BIGGEST PROBLEM of this game though is it's glitches. Played Fallout New Vegas twice, it had plenty of bugs, but none that would potentially kill your experience. But if you were one of those New Vegas players that thought F:NV was bad, Fable 3 is worse. First playthrough, 9 hours in and I randomly fall off the map and can't load previous saves. So I start a second playthrough and it went really smooth for 20 hours. It went smooth up until ALL of my ITEMS and STATS got completely erased from my character. I was 20 hours in, everything I've worked for was gone. Lionhead really likes to disappoint. I love Peter Molyneux (No ******), but he needs a better developement team. Fable 3 is just bad. Perfect but bad at the same time.

Now for the third playthrough..

Really? i guess i got lucky then. I did a 30 hour playthrough and did not encounter any game breaker bugs. Infact the only bug that i found at all was if you roll, its impossible for the enemy to hit you, get surrounded by bad guys and just roll till you break out of the circle lol, it was really funny the first few times then combat got way to easy

Hey, just curious but also expecting this to be a stupid question:

Anyone else notice all the references/jokes that were made in the game about RPG cliches and possibly recent complaints about the recent direction of Bioware's franchises?

One example that sticks out to mind is the "Dragonbone Hammer" in the Bowerstone Market weapon shop. Their joke in the weapon's description does kinda make a point: How come we accept that a high-level weapon can be made out of a bone, even a dragon bone?

Not saying I'm against Dragonbone material in Dragon Age, but just wanted to point out how clever these jokes in the Fable series still are.

I hadn't noticed, I just started charging my AoE at the first sign of danger and one-shotting everything, and its not like anything that survives actually gets a hit in, they just get AoE'd again before they can get up. Magic could really be toned down a bit.
