Hey, just curious but also expecting this to be a stupid question:
Anyone else notice all the references/jokes that were made in the game about RPG cliches and possibly recent complaints about the recent direction of Bioware's franchises?
One example that sticks out to mind is the "Dragonbone Hammer" in the Bowerstone Market weapon shop. Their joke in the weapon's description does kinda make a point: How come we accept that a high-level weapon can be made out of a bone, even a dragon bone?
Not saying I'm against Dragonbone material in Dragon Age, but just wanted to point out how clever these jokes in the Fable series still are.
Yeah, there were tons. I loved the tabletop rpg game that you play for one of the Bowerstone missions, I lol'd so hard at how much they made fun of all of it. And they weren't even going after just rpgs, I noticed some jabs at fps as well. Good times.

Anyone love the gnomes as much as me? I can sit and listen to them for a full five minutes before I decide to shoot them

I loved this quest for the parodies. Again, when it comes to comedic writing, Lionhead are on-par with Bioware even with a whole different style.
Pardon, but what parts of the quest were jabs at FPS's? I don't play many FPS's so I may have just missed them due to ignorance.
Also, the gnomes are funny, but anyone else think that they're way more sadistic than the gargoyles were? It was odd for me just how sociopathic they were since they came from the soul of a gargoyle.

I thought the gnomes were great, very sadistic. If you play a female character they have some very harsh sexist comments too

Game was no where near as cool as that. The actual revolution was lackluster, and the ending was definately rushed. This is KoToR 2 all over again. Also the world isn't as big as hyped and the game is VERY short even with the poorly made sidequests. This game was a huge let down.

remember much about the gargoyles, I could only ever find about 2 of
them and they never really talked before I shot them.
Ahh
ic... I remember that quote from one of the gnomes... I actually took
that as a jab at the large sword fetish for JRPGs and the oversizing of
weapons for DA2... but that is because I think along the lines of an RPG
player [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/grin.png[/smilie]
I
just found the gnomes' sadism very... unsettling, compared to the
gargoyles, who would most certainly taunt the player, but I actually
found the death threats and other obscene stuff of that calibur to not
really fit in to the whole scheme of things.

I just purchased Fable 3, and haven't yet beat it all the way. All I know, is Fable 2, was much more enjoyable. Fable 3 on the other hand, not so much.
pretty much my sentiment at this point.

That was probably my favorite quest. I also liked how they made fun of themselves. "You can't make the final boss die with one shot" (or something like that).
Right now I'm enjoying exploring Aurora which I think has turned out to be a nice addition to the Fable world. I wasn't too sure about it at first because a giant desert seemed boring. Well it turns out it has some epic music, cool new creatures, and it's awfully pretty at night (and that's good enough for me

Very funny. If one takes the time to explore the game. I mean really explore. Take the time to do the side jobs and quests before you complete the main mission. Max your skill at working and get a huge amount of coins.
I believe the game is very rich. Replay it but as something different, choose a different spell or tatic then before. The visuals alone in this game at least when the shadows start to come looks like a very obvious upgrade from the fable 1 series alone.
While everything is ithis game might not blow you mind to the extreme. Keep it mind it's not a Bioware game so it won't grip you so tightly like they do. And it's all about having fun.

I love the gnomes. There are a bunch of really funny things they say. I only have a handful left to find and kill.

I think one of the hardest gnomes I've had to find was in the Bowerstone Market Place. It sounded like it was behind the pub, but every time I went back I couldn't find anything. Hearing his taunts ('Are you lost m'lady? Need directions to the nearest kitchen?!') drove me insane! So much so that I had to look the locations up on YouTube. When I finally found it (at the back of the house next to the pub) I smashed the doors down, accidentally killing the owner in the process (what? He refused to open the door!), and shot that pesky gnome to hell!
Wow that seems... harsh
I just bought the house, upped the rent and then killed the bugger.

I bet Ben Croshaw has been gagging to tear this game apart, hopefully he will have reviewed it for this Wednesday.
OH GOD YOU'RE RIGHT!!!! I've been DYING to see a Zero Punctuation video ripping this game apart. It would honestly have to be one of his most hilarious reviews. I was looking today to see if there was one... sadly there isn't

My favourite thing? Randomly recognising my favourite British Actors when characters talk
Second definitely the gnomes. "Must be nice being able to lick your own privates. But doesnt that embarress your dog!"
