Probably too late to redo all darkspawn model anyway.
Can someone post a picture of the new darkspawn?
I can't remember what they looks like.

Yes, let's stay on topic. Maybe the Devs can explain the whole darkspawn = "I'll get you, He-Man, and your Battlecat, too!" look.

All classes of darkspawn now look like they are afflicted with the same disease, rather than one group mysteriously turning blue, which is nice. As to why some of them wear coifs, I can only assume it's a comfort thing.

Huh, I must be the only one who likes the new darkspawn design. Doesn't really matter since killing them is enjoyable no matter what they look like.

I don't mind it, they actually seem like they descended from an infected human but... I just don't like the way they prance around in the footage I've seen.

I doubt that this is close to what the finish product will be. There's no sky, the ground looks untextured, and there's no discernable light source.

I was impressed that they chucked the usual fantasy stuff and actually went simpler. Almost... ballsy.

What I don't like is the uniformity of the darkspawn, from what I've seen from both games so far. I would like it if they mixed up the ones from Origins with the ones from DA2. Could make it so the DA2 kind are "fresh" darkspawn and the Origins kind (due to degrading from the blight/taint) are the "aged" darkspawn. Also, seeing armor from both games all jumbled together will really emphasize the disorganization of the darkspawn and their lack of unity without an archdemon or whatever. Their armor is made by ghouls or special darkspawn, right? No talented smiths like Wade.
I like the blight seeping from the eyes of the DA2 hurlocks. I like the zombie look of the hurlocks in Origins. Haven't seen the genlocks in DA2 yet. Having a DA2 hurlock fighting alongside an Origins hurlock would be neat.
I don't mind the new hurlock look, it adds variety to the looks of darkspawn, and I can imagine the blight eating away at them until they look like Disciples and then hurlocks from Origins. It's like an aging process: ok skin with blight seeping out, more decaying as seen in the disciples, and then complete zombie mode in Origins hurlocks.
I don't mind them, though it's amusing to see supposedly "tainted and diseased" humanoids sport such perfectly white teeth when the non-diseased originals without taint are on opposite end of the scale, so to speak.ErichHartmann wrote...

Is it just me, or does the entire design look far too much like some utterly cliche and stylized anime crap you would see from some mainstream japanese game developers?
....did the pause button get removed? And what about the combat? How can there be anything tactical from combat which works that quick? At the moment it looks like a mindless one-button-spamming hack and slash Dynasty Warriors rip-off. What about about all those combat effects, those flashing blue circles about? Again, ripping off bloody Dynasty Warriors or some other awful fighting system's effects.
Okay I'll give you this one.And what happened to the Darkspawn? They look ridiculously like some kind ill-designed clown-like Skeletor or some other cartoon villain from the 80s.
Was a private test demo, or something. Only very special people got to play it... just one of those people were too "special" in head and couldn't keep themselves from revealing it.I know some people will say "It's not finished", well you can bet that is it is going to be looking something like that, when they are willing to show actual gameplay.
I was honestly much happier about DA2 before seeing that gameplay video. This doesn't even look like a Western RPG, and it bears nothing akin to it's original dark, realistic and relatively earthly style. But this... just loooks wrong and far, far, far too cartoonly/anime stylized.
What's wrong Bioware? Have you flushed out all the good modelers
and artists who helped make the great visual atmosphere and world of
DA1 or are you trying the seemingly common developer practise of
bankruptcy by pushing out originality and creativity, for more money in a
market you have no idea about?
My intent is not to mindlessly
insult Bioware, because they are definitely my most favourite of all
video-game developers, BUT this looks severly different from anything
from the DA 2 I was expecting, which is why it's extremely disappointing
to see a Dragon Age sequel which looks entirely alien from anything
BioWare could have made, and it would be so disappointing to see another
good and stand-out company falter to the low-qualities, cliches and
bland designs of the absolute conventional and uncaring, money-grinding,
creativity-killing video-game companies of today.

You know, regarding the Darkspawn, we're probably not going to see them that much, anyway, except for in the beginning of the game. Ferelden is tainted with the blight, but not the Free Marches. The blight didn't make it that far, unless it's through the Deep Roads. I'm sure Hawke's story is more about something else than fighting Skeletor... Er, I mean, Darkspawn.

Some concept art appears to be in the Deep Roads.
pft liek the Qunari need more courage. definitely need a heart though. the dwarves definitely need the brains too lol. as for courage, well the elf will need some of that.namedforthemoon wrote...

No, that's not the Deep Roads, that's the hallway. They're going to see the Wizard, where the Qunari will ask for courage, the Dwarf will ask for brains, the ... Whatever that is will ask for a heart, and Hawke just wants to go home, dammit.
