Something tasteful like ME1 = yes.
Something like DA:O = Hell no.

I actually liked them both, (except for the underwear in DA).  And before someone says - get a life, I'm over the age of consent and happily married for over 20 years.  :)    The games are rated M and while I don't want sims sex porn, I like the idea that my characters are adult, and well human, or alien.  The ME1 love scene gave me a wonderfully romantic shiver and I actually found the DA love scenes sort of sweet.

ME2 was a bit of a let down.

I support sideboob in ME3. But the guy who wants a full-blown interactive porno scene may be taking it a little bit too far.

I agree completely, what worries me though that this change in the romance scene videos has concerned so many of us players, including myself.  I mean is the most important part of the game the, not even 30 second, sex scene that happens near the end of game or dlc?
What is wrong with us???????

It's not the most important part, but it's part of the whole experience.

Fade out is fine for a pg13, teen, or under 18 game and that's cool.  KOTOR had a fade out for the Bastila romance and nothing for Carth except "go get a room"  and JE had a fade out.  But ME is M rated and I'm an adult.  I don't want a sims porn scene (not that I would know anything about that:innocent:) but I did like ME1's and DA's love scenes.  I hope they do something like this in ME3.

There was one thing missing from Mass Effect 2... the post-deed scene. It added a certain sense of realism and a more coherent movie-like quality to the original than the simply "beginning of sex scene - fade away - final battle begins". Mass Effect 2's fading away directly to the Omega-4 relay makes the entire thing a bit choppy and directed.

The short conversation after the sex scenes in Mass Effect made the entire thing more seamlessly integrated into the game experience. It felt more like a part of the main story, rather than a cutscene "tucked" in between.

I am more bothered about how all the ME2 romances are depicted in general, most just come of as cheap 1 night stands, I don't really feel as if there is much of a future to any of ME2 possible romances. Having said that, all of the ME2 romance scenes that I have seen so far do fade away a bit to quickly for my likeing, I especially miss not having a scene afterward or some sort of acknowledgement from the LI that they shared somthing special with Shepard.

I agree that I'd prefer to see ME1-type cutscenes--tasteful with the right mood. The only cutscene that was passable in DAO's was Alistair's.

I don't believe that ME2 did it wrong necessarily--I mean, they didn't want to make new models for Tali or Thane and Garrus...I'm not sure if I want to see Garrus.

Just his chest.  Your right, I don't really want to see anyone's full body and I didn't think about having to make th enew models, that makes a lot of sense.  ME 1 was also my favorite love scene and Alistair's, but really all of the DA ones were ok with me.

If I had to pick between getting three seconds of ass and sideboob and getting individual, unique cutscenes that fade to black, I pick the latter.

I'm not sure. Fade to black is better than bad and if the cut scenes were unique to the characters that would probably make me happy.

I agree that the ME2 romances felt like one night stands. But I think that has a lot to do with the dialogue that leads up to the love scene. After two conversations you're in a romance and they show up to your cabin or where ever for the love scene takes place. ME1 there was more build up for the romance and when the night before Ilos came it had been long awaited. With ME1 it felt more like they were making love, not just having sex. I think the love scene was perfect in ME1 it didn't show too much, just teased. It showed the passion, desire they share for each other.

:)  Well, they shouldn't have done ME1 so well.  Everything about it was romantic and romantic is good.  For me, my the outcry was that the love scenes in ME2 were either not as well thought out, or sort of tacky and maybe that was what they were going for.  I don't even remember the love scene with Thane so definitely something was missing.

This could very well be the whole problem I had with the romances in ME2.

I completely agree with Raizo, If you look at Garrus romance it was just shepard saying I want to do you and Garrus wondering whether it is right or wrong. There is no real romance at all. However though there isn't an afterwards scene, there is diologue with Taylor or Tali after the suicide mission if romanced, that talk about that night.

I preferred Mass Effect or Alistair's. I thought they were tasteful and sweet.

I would have preferred no underwear.

Maybe something like: Seeing them as in Mass Effect getting into bed then see them laying on bed under sheet with bare shoulders. Some small talk about love then starting to get up with sheet starting to fall away then fade to black then you are dressed.

I want it done tastefully like in ME1. But I would like to see a bare breast here in there, and for the female's gamers out there a shot of male booty.

Brief or not, if I was about to fornicate with someone and their eyes went black it'd probably be over before it began anyway.

When in that situation, I find that eyes are the last thing I'm looking at.

Agreed, although I would still like a ME1 styled scene, but the after the deed talk did make it fit in better.

It didn't bother me any, I mean you see asari doing the black eyed eternity thing all game so when she did it before the deed I was fine with it.

Not to mention Liara did the "black eternity-eyes" thing whenever she melded with Shepard after the important prothean missions in ME1. Shepard definitely would've been used to it by then. Not to mention if Shaepard had previously been with the consort Sha'ira he/she would've presumably already seen and have been accustomed to it.

Everyone and their sideboob.

I support drellchest for ME3.  Sweet, sweet  drellchest.  That zipper taunted me all through ME2.  Watching me. Waiting.

You win this round zipper, you and your zipped-up shenanigans.

ME2 and even DA:O to an extent felt like a cop-out. Come on Bioware just admit you're frightened of fox news, apologize and we'll forgive you for pushing maturity in games 10 steps back, from your own creation ME1. There i was thinking games were evolving, then this whole fiasco started.

Hell yeah! Drell are kinda nasty in my opinion anyway, also Jacob and Thane should wear shirts just like everybody else.

Somebody should really do a "I support sideboob in ME3" sigbar. I bet you we could make it the most popular sigbar in the forums.

Yes, but I predict we'd eventually have to deal with an explosion of "I'm Commander Shepard, and this is my favorite sideboob on Internet" sigbars.

Yup, Drell are nasty i´m terrified that my Femshep will hallucinate that she is in bed with Harbinger after she romanced Thane (i hope she really listened to mordins advice and took some anti pills).

I would also like the ME1 style romances back. As a parent myself, it was my responsibility to protect my son when he was growing up from inappropriate media of whatever kind, not for all media to be produced to a bland age 13 level.

So come on, BW, FOX isn't always right!

I agree. Bioware must hear our pleas for sideboobage! anyone with the knowledge of how to make a convincing sigbar and could make it "tasteful" like the ME1 scenes were totally should make one. I know I'd have it in my sig in a heart beat if it featured Liara from ME1.

unfortunately one whining parent can ruin it for everyone [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/sad.png[/smilie].  along the sigbar thought, maybe someone should make a sigbar saying "I support ME1 romance scenes". that might have a better impact and make all of us seem less like pervs
