Characters I didn't like, huh?

Well, I guess I'm going to have to throw another vote in for Jacob. I talked with him on the ship once, got completely freaked out by the way my FemShep started talking, and then ignored him. And he still managed to be there after most every recruitment mission, which gave me the sense that he was the guy you were supposed to romance. Not likely.

Miranda, too, if only because I couldn't really express any distrust of her or Cerberus. And that she immediately assumed I'd happily work with her and be her friend. But that's really more of a me disliking Cerberus thing. At least she had the sense to stay out of the way in her office, rather than popping up and reminding me of her existence after every mission.

I suppose Liara in ME1 also counts, largely because I've never gotten past the first couple of conversations with her. I've only ever played one Shepard (still relatively new to the series), and she romanced Kaidan, so it would just be Protheans for the first talk then bang, romance talk. I never talked to her again after that, for fear that she'd try and bring it up again. That, and something about her voice annoyed the heck out of me. No complaints for LotSB Liara though.

Other than that, I don't think there was any other characters I actively disliked. A few I was somewhat indifferent to, but not dislike.

Kaidan was my second favorite character in Mass Effect. Mostly because he was just a normal guy who dealt with his problems in a mature manner and I really felt he had a very interesting back story. Is he boring? Probably. But I enjoy the fact that Bioware put a guy in who is normal and is only a badass when he needs to be one.

Also his hair is awesome.

I completely agree with you.  I never understand why people call him whiny; he talks about Brain Camp just once, and he was trying to prove a point.  On the other hand (please don't kill me) I thought Garrus was really whiny.  I still love him (just look at my avatar) but in ME1 he complained about C-Sec; in ME2 he kept saying "but I wouldn't know.  After all, I got my team killed".  I got kind of sick of it.  And those damn calibrations.....

The Illusive Man.

There, I said it. Let the flaming commence. After it dies down, though, I ask you to at least look at my reasoning:

- He's untrustworthy. He is known to have lied to Shepard at least once (regarding the "derelict Collector ship") and I fully expect he's lied (or deliberately withheld information) numerous other times.
- He's cavalier about murdering and torturing sentient beings (humans and aliens alike) in order to get information that he thinks he needs.
- He wants humanity to dominate the galaxy despite the fact that humanity has only been a part of the galactic community for all of, what? 32 years? Sorry, but there is no way an entire species can get a grasp on how everything works in such a short time in order to run it properly.
- He gives unsolicited advice. "If it affects your mission, best to leave attachments behind." Oh yes, I'll get right on that Mr. 5-Bedmates-A-Week.
- He reminds me too much of a sleazy car salesman. Yes, that is petty and likely unfair but there it is.

I hope ME3 gives us a chance to off the guy.

I agree with you TS2.

TIM suffered from the same issue the architect had in Awakening.

Both have projects that blow up in their face a lot, both have goals that are not nice for many people, and both act in a very condescending "I know more than you" way.

Plus they do these nasty things over and over again, and then suddenly want my help?

As Sigrun says: Time to take out the trash.

TIM's got the "pedo-smile". That automatically disqualifies him for trustworthiness.

Well, at first I didn't like Miranda and Jacob because you couldn't get out of working with them. And I just didn't like Miranda's "I'm perfect" thing. But on my second playthrough, she grew on me.

I kinda figured Jacob was supposed to be the Kaidan of ME2, the normal guy, but for some reason he didn't grow on me the way Kaidan did in ME1 but I stopped disliking him.

Oh, and I didn't care much for Kelly because she wasn't really that useful other than for feeding my fish. xP
