If I wanted to copy an existing vista mesh. Give a new name. And new texture. What is the process that allows the level editor to see it.
I know for custom models, armor and weapons you have to create a variation GDA so the toolset know the new model exists. But how does it work for vista objects and/or props. Can I just copy the files, rename them change the file pointer in the mmh, msh, phy create a new mao that points to my new texture. Then copy all that to the override or is there a GDA that needs to be created as well?
How to add custom vista objects to the toolset.

No need for a gda.
Vista objects can be handled like props.

Ok cool. So then it works like I described above. I basically just make copies, and rename the files and pointers within the files? Copy all that to the override folder and toolset will see them as prop options?

Yes. If you just want to retexture your vista object, use DATools, it will do all of this itself.
