Character Lithograph announcement

I like the current feeding frenzy type release with split release times, so please don't think that the system has to be changed. I'm sure there are plenty others that are also fine without some kind of preferred list, even though some users are vocalizing their support for a preferred system in this discussion.
I'm not trying to single anyone out, but anything along the lines of what has been proposed will end up disgruntling more people than not.

As a long time collector huge fan and umm.. large financial donor. lol I'm personally against a loyalty program as well I won't get into any finger pointing or name calling but I have to agree that while any form of loyalty program would most certainly benefit me I can't see how it could be justified to other customers if the lopyalty reward was exclusive access to the lithos early. From a business perspective the entire discussion is a moot point Bioware/treehouse has no benefit from initiating such a loyalty program anyway it could only serve to make a few happy and really rub far larger numbers the wrong way.
If any kind of loyalty program were considered a points program where you could earn points to use for discounts/free shipping would be the only logical way for bioware to go. This benefits Bioware/treehouse because it encourages people to buy to earn points which they could then use to get more items they want. Like a credit card people could use the added points as a way of justifying the purchase to themselves that they might not have otherwise made. This in turn would allow bioware/treehouse to sell more but allowing early access to lithos does nothing for them either the lithos will sell out or they won't. Any less popular lithos would benefit from a points program though as people might be inclinde to purchase them to earn points (or use the discounts they have earned to buy the lithos)
Either way as Dsurian pointed out the discussion clearly isn't going anywhere and furthering it isn't going to help anyone so this will be my only response on the subject.
As far as the original topic
These lithos look great.
Tali: No idea what tali is sitting on I don't think it's a window as you can't really make out any other ship parts around her. Almost looks like she's just sitting in a big ring in the middle of space. the "U" shape behind her appears to be another ring like the one she is on. obviously the top of the ring is cut off in the image.
Grunt: Personally one of my favorite looking characters the colors are fantastic and i like the action shot with the bullets coming at him. Really hope some day a Wrex litho will be available
Thane: I like thane like the action shot but I have to say his arm just looks strange... almost like his arm is the main focus of the litho. Also looks to like it is to large for his body and the sharp 90 degree angle from him just looks strange.
I will certainly pick up atleast 1 of each not sure about doubles the price increase doesn't sit well with my wallet while saving for my wedding in less than 9 months

Tali's sitting on part of a window's frame on the haul of a ship I'm guessing. Maybe she's trying to peek into Shepard's room.
I also like image used for Grunt, it has great colour. The only thing I wish it had was a bit more body. But otherwise it's a nice litho, like the rest.

I'd just like to announce to whoever is watching this discussion and possibly considering these ideas (Jed):

Yeah the price increase isn't so good. If you buy all 3 character lithos you could've bought another litho when it cost $30 instead of $40. It just means that I will be buying less. I mean 2 lithos are the price of one video game. I'll probably only end up picking up the grunt and maybe pragia. Or I might just save for the DAO lithos.

The current system can't be fair, otherwise BW wouldn't be looking for ways to make it fairer (limited number per person, split release times etc).
Why you take such offence at the suggestion of a loyalty scheme confuses me. That's all.
As for "putting the shame on others anddispute them" erm, what?
You say that other companies do this? Name one, please.
Plenty of developers give first sale options to the game community that supports them, namely people on their forums/community and people who own their games... not people that buy the previous 12 iterations of a product. It just seems like an odd standard to have.
I hate to do this as I don't like the idea of a loyalty system beyond what Cyjans suggested.... but... that's exactly what First4Figures does. They have a loyalty system that not only guarantees access to the limited run of new products to old purchasers, but allows them to get the exact same number too. Maybe its easier for them as their limited products are 10 times more expensive than Bioware's, but that is a store that has successfully implemented a rewards system for a highly sought after product. I don't think it would work for the lithos though as no body has all the same numbers any more.
With that said, I think the pack only system is exactly what is needed to get what you want; the people who only want one will be discouraged by the pack and that gives the collectors a chance to jump in and grab all 3. Here's hoping they don't sell out *that* quickly though.

Fair enough. You're right. I still stand by the fact that it's not common practice. And it's not a loyalty scheme in the true social definition of the term.
I also agree that the current breakdown of "entire set" released first, and individuals released later caters to those die hard collectors of all lithographs.

Thx for the info. I had to look them up first because I've never heard of them - though I've seen the statues, only never knew they were created by them.
