Trailer reminds me more of FFVII than Dragon Age Origins. Sad.

IThe other trailer also put out the information that Dragon Age is all about the Grey Wardens (an organization not an individual) and what they fight for.

I don't remember reading or seeing this at all and I've seen every Dragon Age trailer.

it's this one.

Duncan was narrating about the Grey Wardens (although only one is shown here).

Art style of origins fits perfectly well for a Baldur's Gate spiritual successor and a mature, dark fantasy game coupled with a great story and gameplay. As it has been ever since the beginning. That's what the faithful PC fans have come to love about Bioware.

I don't see how it looks like FFVII at all but I do want this theme somehow in the game  :innocent:.

I saw it, however it doesn't imply that every sequel of DA would be about the Wardens.

It's true. The trailer is ridiculously lame.

Yeah.

In the end. I would still play DA2. However, I am certain it will not give me the hundreds of hours of gameplay that Baldur's Gate and Origins did. I'll be getting DA2 for the PS3 this time and not on the PC.

Of course it does - because all CGI trailers are totally 100% accurate representations of actual gameplay. *sarcasm*

Dragon Age II, because you can review an entire game five months before it comes out.

It makes me laugh really, how it has nothing to do with the actual game. It was those kind of trailers that kept me from buying it initially. Then I saw game play and realized it might be good.

I understand they want to make flashy trailers, but it only makes sense to have them reflect the character of the game itself. In this regard I suppose the cgi trailer for DA2 is a little better.

That trailer is cool right up to the end, then it's just f-ing lame and retarded. What's with the white background and why does he make that face like he sat on something uncomfortable at the end? And yeah, it's still a spiritual successor to BG and it's still a mature dark fantasy game, but BG is dead, that's why it's only a spiritual successor rather than a remake.

Someone is claiming that the Calling trailer fits for anything other than a ridiculously bloody and gory pure action game with no taste whatsoever aimed for 12-15 year olds who wants to be "cool" and don't realise that just adding a bunch of blood and violence makes it less mature. I think I'll go ice skating in hell until the flying pigs go away.

I think the trailer was epic, not as epic as Sacred Ashes (I wish they would have made the DA movie that way instead of anime.) but that's to be expected since Dragon Age Origins was the first one we got attached to it. I thought it had a very Dragon Age feel, the universe in Dragon Age is so vast I'd like to experience it as a member without any allegiances to the Wardens, or anyone. It would be interesting in my opinion. I'm certain once DA:2 comes out it will be just as amazing, if not more! I'm excited!!!

I can't wait to start this new character, I was at first bummed my Warden wasn't coming back, but at the same time excited to start a new storyline.

Also someone mentioned Operation Anchorage as being a fail DLC for Fallout, I can't agree more. *shudders*

I would really reccomend against getting DA2 as a console game. DA was unplayable garbage on the console. I rented to try and it and... ew. I can appreciate why Bioware is so desperate to say that DA2 combat is nothingi like DA. If played the game on console, it would take at least that to make me even think of buying the game.

Also - take a look at the Sacred Ashes trailer. That had Morrigan fliping like she was on speed and waking people with her staff. Nothing like how DA turned out to be.

The music at the beginning for the grey warden trailer went with it good.

But when "this is the new ****" came on. it was fully ruined.

Looking again at the trailer for the 4th time I feel it is more akin to a final fantasy game than to a "spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate"

Origins was the best.
Awakening killed it.
Witch Hunt spat at it.

Sigh.

:(

Even though Origins I agree was by far the best Awakenings wasn't that bad. I agree that Awakening has quite a few glitches but for me none of them were game ending. For me Awakening was actuallu a pretty good expansion. But.....yes I agree Witch Hunt sounded awesome......but it was a complete insult by Bioware to fans that liked Morrigan. I bought the expansion to have some of my questions about Morrigan answered but I left the expansion with even more questions. Plus the fact that Morrigan's role in Witch Hunt was so small she didn't really even need to be in the game. SO I disagree with you about Awakening.....but I agree Witch Hunt was an abomination.

When I saw the trailers for ;

KOTOR - Thought it looked like a complicated mess and rubbish. Bought it and loved it.
DA:O - Thought it looked like mindless hack and slash, had no interest. Bought it and loved it.
Mass Effect - Didn't take my fancy too much, bought it on sale well after release. Favorite game of all time.
Dragon Age 2 - Thought the trailer leaked gameplay looked like mindless hack and slash with little substance. Pre-ordered it....

My moral is perhaps that sometimes BioWare's gameplay video's don't come across as the true style / nature of game. Of course the exception to that is ME2, which had the best trailer of all time.

well, FFVII is one of my all time favorite games, especially RPG games.

did the Trailer remind me of FFVII.  not really, no.  It reminded me of a dark medieval fantasy like LOTR or........idk......say..........Dragon Age:  Origins.......

I loved the Trailer.

All I want to be able to do is make my Lady Hawke Mage be as bad a** a melee fighter as Trailer Hawke.  If I can do that, I will be a happy camper........

Agree 100%

ME2 trailer was awesome and it reflected what the game would actually be like. I don't know why they don't do this for DA2.

I loved the ME2 trailer, but the best trailer of all time is the Deus Ex:Human Revolution E3 trailer without a doubt.

You can feasibly draw comparisons between DA and any game out there. You can also draw comparisons between FF7 and any game out there. In fact, when you boil elements down to the simplest level as you have, you can compare anything to anything.

Couldn't you say the same thing for the Sacred Ashes trailer? How exactly was SA similar to actual Dragon Age gameplay?

small person carying a big sword.

warrior plus mage in one.

power too devastating - should have been used from the beginning saving time and effort in fighting
dragging sword on ground while attacking (who does that other than ****** characters)

Technically that weapon hawke had in his hand is not a sword.
              Your pointing out hair? wow
he's not a warrior/mage, he's just a blood mage.  Mages in da2 wont just cast this time around, they will                    attack physically with their staff when engaging enemies up close.
power activated when character is in a corner?  Thats not very japanese, its just strategic.
Dragging sword on the ground? How is that japanese?
