Update:
1. Have 'in principle' approval from the principal (pun coincidental) to investigate further. In the process of getting IT support approval and assistance.
2. Have downloaded and successfully tested the patches as per dunniteowl's suggestion above.
3. Continuing to create modules in anticipation of next year.
Cheers

Update:
IT department have shown a lot of positivity towards the idea but do not think it can be implemented by start of term next year. No prob - the important thing is they are supportive. I will be working with them over the next couple of months to iron out the issues.

Is NWN2 as difficult as Baldur's Gate? Unless these kids are already well versed in this kind of game they have a freakishly huge difficulty curve ahead of them.

I will be creating the campaign and it won't be about combat or even hugely difficult puzzles or riddles, much less hidden items - the aim will be interaction with NPCs and incorporating learning from the real world in both directions. It won't be difficult in any sense other than getting familiar with the GUI, which kids these days tend to do like a fish takes to water. I'll find out for sure next year, I hope.

Oh, that actually sounds excellent. I didn't mean to sound skeptical. I've just been playing Infinity Engine games for 5 years and am still baffled as to how to not die all the time, so I was concerned.

Update: IT will give dedicated attention to the proposal around end Feb, start March, 2011. We are getting a bunch of new laptops into the school and, with all the other normal IT stuff, it is too hectic to do any real testing this year. In the meantime, I have a cache of NWN2 disks and licences that are ready to use and the process continues.

Good to hear. Sadly I have not heard back from any of my contacts into Obsidian on your behalf at this point in time. Nice to know I have a bit of time to come up with something more.
