Sure, she was stubborn, and always disapproved of what I did that I had to shower her with all of my gifts to get her to come up to neutral at times, but man did she bring the pain. Now Wynne, who forced her fossilized derriere into my party, stands there sprinkling prissy regens on my party members with a stubborn stature that attempts to justify her place there. Where are the waves of lightning buzzing through the bones of the undead (as well as those of an unfortunately positioned Alistair - toward whom you KNOW she cast it on purpose) and the cones of cold and the irresistible nightmares? I long to be caught in her spider web once more and have my limbs clawed and torn at as the prey that I am to her widow's embrace, yet I find myself embraced by the clammy and syrupy hands of grandma who smells like cotton-soaked iodine and sports more skin-tags than Carol Channing. I can't believe I let that wild girl storm out with disapproval as I decided to prolong the corporeal suffering of a poor woman near-death. I could have ended her chest pains and unexplained arthritic cramps then and there, but I decided selfishly to spare my conscience. Besides, would you really want her head staring at you and judging you even in death while you carry it all the way to highever and leave it as a gift on the bed of arl howe? No, you wouldn't, that's why you bag it first. Ahh, I wish I had thought this decision through, I might just commit suicide if I have to endure her...pacifism much longer...my party is so well-behaved and appropriate and boring now, oh how I miss the dissonance, MORRIGAN I'MMA COMIN BABY!

I actually have her at 100 approval, granted it was a LOT easier to get it up (lolz) when I stopped taking her on missions cause she stopped disapproving everything. I think shes one of, if not the best, stories in the game.

Not to mention one of the best ass kickers in the game. I could count on her to pull me through some most of the combats, especially if my melee characters went down.

My mage, both of them and the chick rogue. Best party so far for me. Nightmare difficulty win button.

Hmmm...Morrigan was all right, but I liked Wynne more. I liked Lel even more, but that is slightly off topic. I found the heals much more helpful than Morrigan's spells. Really...the party hinged on my survival and it was rare that they survived a fight without me. Morrigan...while I found her understandable and funny, just seemed like...Flemeth. Though...the hare incident with my dog was hilarious.

Wynne was the wise Grandma character. I felt she was incredibly important to the main character if you go the more noble route. Morrigan, well if you wanted fire power, she was the one to use.

Morrigan is fun to have around, but from a power-oriented perspective I found it hard to justify taking her with me all the time, one of her specialization slots is completely wasted (Yuk, Shapeshifter, what a joke even at maximum level and spellpower), her ice-focus is useless if you encounter undead, and in her shapeshifted forms she rarely hits, inflicts low damage and goes down from a few arrows, unless you specifically increase her non-magic stats, in which case you can write off her standard spells and don't have enough spellpower to get decent boni in her shifted forms.
When I had to take Wynne (Spiritual Healer/Bloodmage) at some point, I found it was a breeze playing through that section, replaying that same section with Morrigan was much, MUCH harder.

You do know you can kill Wynn in the tower if you want and make Morrigan your healer right? Buy the Spirit Healer book in Denerim if you want her to spec Full Spirit healer, That's what I'm going to do for my second playthrough.

i played an ethical and just character first run through, Wynne was the obvious choice, only problem i really had was the landsmeet, no-way you can be ethical and Just, if you back Alistair for king, you have to kneel so to speak, if you tell him how to act he isnt worthy of support

You can make Morrigan a healer and you can make Wynne a damage dealer. There's nothing about Morrigan that makes her exceptionally strong except that any mage makes fights much easier in the early game. If you're a mage yourself you'll find that Morrigan makes much less of a difference. Making Wynne deal damage is easier than making Morrigan a good healer since you don't have to wait for Morrigan to be able to specialise as a spirit healer at level 14, at which point you'll probably have gone through at least one of the major quest lines without the spirit healer skills, all of which are highly useful. Also, Wynne's second specialisation will be way more useful than Morrigan's first (unless you feel like wasting spec points and make Wynne a shape shifter).

only thing wynne lacks in the term of power play is control.
morrigan can easily play healer by putting 1 talent in heal and continue her cc/aoe damage path
while wynne is a great healer but her cc/AoE sucks..
morrigans early cone of cold and blizzard helped me alot .. so i didnt even need heals that much.
