That's your fault for putting an unloyal character in charge of something, you had no one to blame but your self.gadna13 wrote...
That first play through was such a good memory.
I had all loyalties besides Miranda's cause I sided with Jack by mistake.
Had Tali (my LI) go through the vents and then stupidly picked Miranda to lead the fireteam. Watching that rocket hit Tali in the face was probably the most depressed I've ever been due to a video game.
After that chose everything correct and had no one die, brought Thane and Samara with me to the final boss. Told TIM to go to hell and blew the station sky high.
It was actually an interesting playthrough with the LI dying and all, now I can't wait to see if that's mentioned in ME3.
Do you remember your VERY FIRST suicide mission playthough?

- Got all upgrades
- Finished all DLC (I'm an ME newb)
- Learned how to use adrenalin rush
- Got "No One Left Behind" on the first try
- Came out of the whole experience feeling like LotSB was harder (prob. b/c I didn't know what AR was at the time.

Delayed the IFF mission until everything else was done.
Whole crew survived.
Sent Tali through the vents, Garrus was fire team leader.
Samara as biotic escort, Garrus was fire team leader. Sent Jacob as escort.
Took Samara and Miranda at end game.
No One Left Behind achievement.

"What, sending people off on their own for dangerous things? Ah bluh. Okay, Garrus, Tali: You were there when we took down Sovereign. I trust you two more than anyone. I know you'll get the job done. Jacob, you stay the **** here, I don't need you getting us all killed."
*Doesn't bother to read anything*
"Alright Garrus, in the tunnel with you. There won't be anything in there you can't handle."
*Still doesn't bother to read anything*
"Tali, I'm sticking you with the other team. With them guarding you, that'll make sure you're perfectly safe."
"What? Shut up, Miranda. It wasn't her fault a billion Geth came out of nowhere. Let's do this."
*Fast-forward to end of first section*
"Alright, ****ing things tried to kill Garrus, but we're in the clear now. Just close those goddamn doors already. What the hell? Get behind the doors, god dammit! .... Garrus? Garrus!? No..."
*Heart drops to my stomach, and all the blood exits my appendages*
"Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. I think I'm going to be sick."
*Continuing, myself now thoroughly stupified and scarcely functioning*
"What, splitting up? God dammit. Who is going to get killed this time?" (Understand that initially I suspect that you CANNOT get through without SOMEONE dying; By now I'm CERTAIN you can't get through without people dying, and now I'm just trying to figure out how to make sure it's me or Zaeed next.)
"Okay, okay... Samara, you're all super-biotic, so we should be fine. Tali, you stick with the other group, and for the love of god STAY BEHIND THEM!!!"
*Forward again to the chase as Samara is faltering under the strain*
"C'MON SAMARA, YOU CAN MAKE IT! JUST A LITTLE BIT FURTHER!"
"Yahoo!!"
"Okay, okay. Everything is fine. Garrus... *Nausea*... I can manage... I can manage..."
"Where's that other team? Get them in here, and get that goddamn door closed!"
"Ah, thank god, everything is..."
"Too many suite ruptures, can't..."
"T-Tali? TALI!?!? Oh god, no! No god, nooo!!"
*All blood drains from to my feet, overwhelming nausea, start to sob, then off to the bathroom to vomit, more crying, exit ME2*
*Scarred for life*
So yeah, that first experience...
Just another example of why it pays not to get fall into the early morning marathon-length session trap. Couldn't keep down food for nearly two weeks after that.
Edit: Oh and, eh, about "lack of hard choices", let me tell you: If you're going in blind and under the assumption that there is NO way that everyone is coming back... Trust me, EVERY choice is a hard choice.
For the record, for that first time... I went in psychologically prepared to have have myself, Zaeed, and Jacob not come back. In that order. Sorry boys, but that was the call I made. Don't think I made the decision lightly.

That is OOC for my Shepards. I wanted something like Virmire. Where oyu had to choose who lives and who dies, have people die no matter what. Make some deaths always happen. Not make the biggest cop out ever. Virmire did the suicide mission better then the SMMr. Gogeta34 wrote...

Hey, that could work, just tape a rockte to it and run it through a mass relay. A plastic knife movin at 1000 times the speed of light should do the trick.aDuck wrote...

I heard Miranda say, "You need someone who can command loyalty through experience."
I squinted blearily at the screen, reading the character descriptions, and saw: "Samara is a justicar with hundreds of years of experience..."
I thought vaguely, "Oh, that must be the right one then. How helpful these hints are, they must be designed for plastered people! Just like the IHOP!"
What a disaster. Samara, you old biddy, why didn't you tell me your experience wasn't actually experience?
