*All squadmates loyal.
*all ship upgrades
*done right after legion's loyalty, so the crew wasn't killed.

Legion, the tech specalist, died at the gate because Thane was the fire team leader.
Picked Samara for biotic field, Garrus for team leader. No casualties.
I think that I took Grunt and Thane for the human-reaper. so Mordin got screwed.
The crew survived the escort.

I'm a completionist (so I do every mission and buy/research every upgrade, and explore almost every conversation option i come across :)) and save compulsively, so even if I didn't spoil some of the game for me, I still would have made the same choices (or upon realizing that I went to the last mission to early, I would just reload from before reaper IFF. its not just Mass effect, I do that with every game where I have crew/units, which why some of the strategy games ****** me off - the ones where you cannot avoid losing units, because them dying is part of the intro or some such.

that said, my first epic play through (which I had to pause several times just to come down from adrenaline rush a bit...what??). all ship upgrades, all team members loyal, but not all side missions completed (got impatient), so individual weapons and shields weren't the highest possible, but still upgraded at least somewhat.

I was playing it right after playing ME1 so I had a lot of lingering mistrust towards Cerberus, and that colored a lot of my choices.
fireteam leader (both times) Garrus, cause he's the one I trust most.
engineer - Tali.
biotic - Samara (I like Jack, but I didn't feel like I could rely on her to keep holding on, Samara with her Justicar discipline and centuries of experience seemed like a better choice)
I sent back Jacob with the crew, despite him being Cerberus, he always came across as a pretty good guy who would take care of people under his care, which was proven to me during his loyalty mission, so I figured, he should have no issues protecting them/taking care of them

I took Samara and Garrus (becasue I felt they could be the best support for the last boss) with me on a last mission and I have to say, I was sweating a little when Joker told me that all survivors are on board (wait, shouldn't he be saying that everyone made it, all survivors, does it mean someone died???), but it all turned out well in the end. I didn't have Kasumi at the time, so I JUST made it to the necessary defense rating to keep everyone alive.

My first playthrough was Jack Shepard, Vanguard (Earthborn/War Hero). Full team loyalty. All upgrades. Everyone Survived, including 100% of the crew. I made all decisions purely for roleplay reasons.

I went after my crew the second they were taken. They weren't going to die if I had a say in the matter.

Tech: Tali.
Even though she was my romantic interest, this job was made for her. I couldn't cheat her of her one moment to shine.  I really thought this was going to be a 'Vermire' decision and I was sending her to her death. Probably the tensest point in the game for me. My heart was in my throat the entire time as I rocketed ahead of my team (Vanguard) bouncing off the enemies to richochet myself to the valves.

Fire Team 1: Garrus
After Tali the one person I trusted most. He also had proven leadership abilites. And what I felt was the most agreeable choice among my teammates (Even Miranda didnt complain much)

My Team during that Segment: Jack and Grunt
Best choices in my mind for causing maximum damage on their own. Also the two least likely to follow the orders of other leader choices. They did a great job of mopping up everything I was forced to rush past.

Crew Escort: Jacob
I needed someone I could trust to protect others over himself. And someone who would have a vested interest in the crew's survival. Jacob fit that role perfectly in my mind. I always saw him as a protector.

Biotic Specialist: Samara
Jack had the raw power, but this job required both power and precision. No one on the team has had longer practice than Samara. She was the only logical choice to maintain a biotic field for that duration.

Fire Team 2: Miranda
This was my one roll of the dice. I wanted to give multiple characters a chance to shine so decided to give her a shot at command. Show her I trust her and all that. When she took the shot at the end I paniced, thinking I made a bad call. She survivied.

Final Battle: Tali & Garrus
The two people I trusted most to have my back. We faced Saren together, it was only right we ended things here together as well.

I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Every decision felt like Vermire. (which was the intent I'm sure) So when no one died I was really floored. I started to think all those 'near death' scenes were fakeouts until I visited these forums for the first time after and realized they all could have died due to a a dizzying array of variables...including making bad choices.

Even though no one died, it was the most memorable, most gripping playthrough. Because I really had no idea what to expect.

All my squad loyal

All ship upgrades

Did the suicide mission straight after Legion's mission

All my crew/squad mates survived the suicide mission:

Garrus as fire team leader both times

Legion as tech specialist

Samara as biotic specialist

Mordin to escort the crew back to the Normandy

Thane and Miranda to fight the reaper

- All possible in game upgrades bought, including ship upgrades

- Specialist: Tali/ 2nd T.Leader: Garrus; Escort: Mordin

- Biotic field: Jack (nowadays i use Samara)/Leader: Garrus

- Boss fight squad: Garuss and Miranda

- Everyone had survived and the base was destroyed.

That was my first playthrough.

Got and kept everyone loyal with paragon Infiltrator male Shepard. No one died. The game gave you adequate cues like to start the mission immediately. I mean your crew was abducted surely you could figure time was of the essence.

Paragon Engineer, no DLC, all loyal, all upgrades.

Don't think I did a mission between abduct and O-4, but I hit of the citadel to buy that last upgrade I couldn't afford until then, so half the crew melted.

Tech Specialist: Mordin (d'oh!)

1st Fire Team leader: Garrus. When Miranda said that I needed someone who could command 'loyalty through experience' I figured he was the obvious choice because the only fight his own squad lost was when he wasn't there. Too bad it didn't matter for poor Mordin.

Biotic Specialist: Jack. Well, she seemed like the obvious choice for doing anything biotic. She had the L5x implants, so no worries there.

2nd Fire Team leader: Jacob. He had combat experience and was alliance trained, and I figured that he generally wouldn't chafe too much with anyone, especially since Jack was with me anyways.

Crew Escort: Tali. She was my LI at the time, and I figured that it would be the best way to get her back to the ship safely. This turns out to be a good thing as well, considering my next choice.

Final fight: Grunt and Samara(I think, it may have been Jack for biotic goodness).

Blew the CB, no-one died holding the line.
