And it's pretty clear that GREAGOIR, of all people, is also going along with the cover-up. Seriously, when the First Enchanter and Knight-Commander are both trying to get Wynne to shut up, maybe she should consider listening.

Oh good grief this. When I saw them like "eh...let's move along"

"BLOODMAGIC!"

I facepalmed.

It's really a shame this isn't in the vanilla game. You should've been able to get an army of bloodmages instead of normal mages in exchange. :bandit: Yes I know it makes no sense and has no basis in game. Still would've been awesome.

Question: With the Alistair romance convo is she really disapproving that the PC will "hurt" Alistair? Or does she not want them distracted by each other?

Listening to many of the banters that have been restored something does come out.
Sten and Zevran are far more wise or intelligent that Wynne.

Sten is by far a better teacher than Wynne. If you listen very closely Sten asks you why you hold to things, or why you do things. Wynne just tells you what to believe.

Restored banters? In ejoslin's amazing Zev Mod? Or are there other restored banters I haven't heard yet? *Curious* I'd love to see more banters between Zev/Loghain. Because the one they DO have is made of WIN.

I do agree, a good mentor would have you examine your beliefs and teach you how to actually think.

Edit: And you're right about both Sten and Zevran.  Sten's worldview is extremely rigid, but he does try to get you to think about both his and your own beliefs (I LOVE those "hidden" dialogs of his where you can question him further about his party barks).  Zevran is a complete pragmatist -- he's good at seeing things for what they are.  His advice normally is quite practical, though, even though occasionally he lets his emotions enter into it.

Hidden dialogues? Now I'm even more intrigued! Did you restore them in your Mod?

Edit: Never mind. I figured it out. Ah, I AM slow at times.

Gah, I wish there were more to restore. "Is it... Lord Loghain?" OMG! Leave it to Zevran.

Wynne does worry about the warden hurting Alistair. But she also says the whole romance can go bad due to him being the son of a king. Actually, Wynne's advice to Alistair is not horrible; it's the best of all of them. She's still out of line, but she's not insulting him.

Also, though, you have to opportunity to say THIS to her if it's Alistair:

Warden: Maybe you should go make a fuzzy blanket and leave us alone.

It kind of ticks me off that the Zevran specific "Wynne advice" dialog there is the most polite of them :/ Especially since she's so rude about the whole thing.

Edit: Looking over the "advice" conversation, Leliana's and Alistair's go pretty much the same way.  I suppose that makes sense.

Second edit: Anyone can get this bit of nastiness, however.

Wynne: Nothing is certain, not in these times. You cannot take anything for granted. I want you to be aware of this. (A little preachy.)
Warden: I'm old enough to think for myself, thank you very much!
Wynne: Obviously not, if you think that this... fling of yours is going to endure. (A little coldly.)

Heh, the VO not says "a little coldly"? That falls very short of how Wynne actually says the line, not to mention the facial expression she does.

I wish you could tell her to leave, actually, the way you can with Morrigan and some of the others.

We're talking about Wynne here in a character discussion group! Would be great to see some of you joining in the discussion there.

FLING? She calls it a fling?! :o:ph34r: Now I REALLY detest her. If I didn't need a healer.........:bandit:

You know, I'm sure that if Morrigan knew that learning to heal would allow you to ditch Wynne she'd happily learn...

Nah, decapitating her is more than enough! I don't like hitting little old ladies, even if they are obnoxious.

Wait...you can't tell Wynne to leave? O_o

You can tell everyone else to leave! (well except Alistair and dog)

No, you just get three chances to kill her.

1. At the biggining of Circle quest, tell her you're annuling the mages, she's attack.
2. Right before Uldred, Agree with Cullen that the mages must all die.
3. Defile the sacred ashes with her in your party. otherwise, if she's not in your party but you defile the ashes, she confronts you quite nastily, and leaves.

You can also lower her approval to -100 and she leaves I think.

Yes. You'll have to bring her along and do everything twisted you can.

Or, if you're playing a "lawful good" type of character, just get the feast day pranks and spam her with rotten onions and coal. And then give her an old lady hobble stick.

Works like a charm.

Feast Day pranks are also good for not-so-saintly Wardens who are too impatient to wait until her approval gets that low naturally and also don't want to drag her around.

That goes without saying. Though less than saintly characters can just kill her when you meet her at the tower.

That's not bad. I once sold my soul for a Playstation 1, and my ex broke it a week later.

Souls are overrated anyway.
Like Kidneys.

There's nothing I can contribute that hasn't already been said, but I love to hate Wynne.
