This post is.... a little late....  but still I think people would possibly like to revisit ME1 to unlock content in ME2 and this particular quest is quite important as it unlocks more quests in ME2.

As you know the bug is the dialogue with Lorik Quinn where it doesnot give you the convosation options to continue the quest...

To work around this you unfortunately have to use a small cheat... and i must stress I hate cheats!!!
I figure xbox users can cheat too ? if not, tuff...

before you start up the game, locate the BIOInput.ini file located in your My Documents\\Bioware\\Mass Effect\\Config folder and back it up then open it using Notepad. Locate where [Engine.Console] is written (just left ctrl+f to find it strait away) and add the following line under it:

ConsoleKey=Tilde

save and start up the game.
In the game goto the locked lift near the garage that leads up to Synthetic Insights.
press ~ to open the console, the key to the left of '1'
type 'ghost' into the console without the '' and press enter
you can now walk through the elevators locked doors.
once through the locked doors and into the lift, open the console once again and type 'walk' to disable noclipping.
play the quest as normal.

note: you will find the quest does not play out exactly properly because of the bypass, nevertheless it is acceptable and will unlock the ME2 quest when ported over given that you do as Gianna Parasini asks of you which is to get Qui'in to testify.

you will get stuck again.. when you go to talk to Qui'in after you meet with Parasini in the club across the room from Qui'in. The dialogue options still will not be available. select the Benezia dialouge option then ask to talk about somthing else. The dialogue options will now be reset and you now can continue the quest as it was intended.

This will NOT currupt or adversly affect your ME1 import to ME2
