I've gotten a lot of approval from Leliana during the course of my game and I can honestly say, I'm not very interested in her as a character. So basically, I had no interest before the game came out and she lived up to my expectations which was.....nothing. Ha.



Can't wait to see Zev and Morrigan's though.

Well to be fair, I've done two playthroughs without dedicating a whole lot of time to this. Plus, you don't have to go through one playthrough the whole way to complete a romance. In both Morrigan's and Leliana's cases, the whole 'romance' plot was 95% done by the second major plot destination.

I did pretty much the same thing as Kelteel. Good fun, that. As for Lukertin's comment, the game - as with anything else Bioware makes - eats your soul until you complete it.

i'm curious, how does the leliana romance differ if you're a girl instead of a guy?

It's probably not very different based on being a guy or a girl, but there a few comments about being a girl, and how she very much enjoys the company of other women. There's a lot of girly flirting back and forth that I doubt would be there with a male PC. It's wonderful.

Actually, the flirting playfullness is there for men as well. One of the reasons I thought it was so entertaining. Not sure if it's the same flirting, but it's certainly there.

Well, obviously Leliana would flirt with the male PC too. I'm talking about the actual flirtations.



There's one part that's entirely focused on Leliana and other women where the PC asks if she often likes the company of other women. Leliana says "And what if I told you that I did? Very much so, in fact." And the PC can respond with "Maybe I'd giggle...act coy?" And Leliana says "You'll have to do that then. Later. Surprise me."



I very much doubt that that's included in the male PC romance. I also wonder if Leliana would comment about a male PC's eyelashes the morning after. If she does, then that's disappointing to me.

Well, I completely cheated and just reloaded my saves after spamming all my gifts. It was all for the achievments, except Leliana. Zevran's is... okay. Alistair's is better, but not my style.

With the male/Lelianna Romance she comes off as creepy. All waking up with her staring at you, then saying she wants to put your eyelashes in a jar? What kind of freak would say that? Honestly. I wanted to pick the "See?! I knew we shouldn't have done this! You're all crazy, now!" option. But I didn't. Because, apparently, when it comes to pixels, I'm a nice guy.

I have to agree with you on that one, Leliana does come off leaning more towards the female persuasion, her previous romance was with a woman after all. I get the feeling that aside from a male PC Leliana only ever interacted with men romantically as a result of being a bard.

The writers weren't very subtle about her liking women either. I love that random party banter she has with Morrigan about clothes shopping and Morrigan proceeds to tell Leliana to quit looking at her breasts. If I didn't know she was a romance option for female characters going into the game that certainly would have clued me in as I got that banter in Lothering before I'd really started getting to know Leliana.

Honestly I thought at first the "romance" of pixels was facepalm worthy.



But the dialog and immersion of the romances are actually a great touch.

Meh, most of the straight women I know in RL act like that.  I'm pretty sure that Leliana just comes across as liking whichvever gender your PC is.  In my game she had some conversations with Zevran about how she would seduce men before killing them as a bard, didn't pick up much of a lesbian vibe... but maybe I missed some dialogue or it's just different when you play as a girl.  I've also heard that she flirts with Sten and I know Zevran made a pass at her in my game so I wonder if she would have flirted back had she not been with me by that point..

Who was her previous romance by the way? I must have missed that.

Morrigan, though I did like Leliana's song.



Generally I dislike Leliana's "flavor" since she is so churchy. Maybe it's because Morrigan, Shale and I would go out and do nasty things to people and laugh about it as the best of friends, and Leliana and Wynne would constantly whine/preach/grandmother me. Also, she looks too similar to my old roommate's girlfriend, who was a total b*tch.

Me too. Viconia's my favorite romanceable bioware girl ever.  Leliana comes close but the bittersweet ending with Viconia in the BGII expansion seals the deal.

Maybe it's perception but there is nothing about her interaction with other party members that tells me she has any real interest in men aside from a male pc. Being with the pc doesn't seem to affect how she responds to Zevran because she responded the same way everytime I get that scene no matter who I'm romancing. Between her ogling of Morrigan's breasts, actually stating she prefers the company of other women and the fact that her mentor/betrayer also happens to be her former lover gives me the impression that she leans more towards women than men.
