Morrigan was the best for me, did both the girls and it is hard not to fall for Morrigan. I think you can 'temper' her to a point, she is always basically the same, but becomes more and more caring it seems.

Very very bittersweet romance IMO.

I'd hardly call it bittersweet.  Maybe just bitter.

Meh, most of the straight women I know in RL act like that.  I'm pretty sure that Leliana just comes across as liking whichvever gender your PC is.  In my game she had some conversations with Zevran about how she would seduce men before killing them as a bard, didn't pick up much of a lesbian vibe... but maybe I missed some dialogue or it's just different when you play as a girl.  I've also heard that she flirts with Sten and I know Zevran made a pass at her in my game so I wonder if she would have flirted back had she not been with me by that point..

Who was her previous romance by the way? I must have missed that.

I remember her comments with Zevran, and I'm pretty sure she never specified any gender of people she had seduced in the past as a bard.

You have her comments with Morrigan, her comments with a femme PC about other women, you have her romance with and love for Marjolaine, and if your PC sleeps with Isabella with Leliana (without Zevran) she says that the noble women of Orlais taught her "those things".

Her love for women is not subtle. I don't remember any specific reference to men she had been with (unless your PC is male).

Leliana was a bard assassin. She seduced men then killed them. its not so much she doesn't like men but rather she does not have experience having an actually relationship with a man.

I also think the reason its tougher to get into a relationship with her is because her last one endup in a nasty betrayal.

She seduced and killed women too.  I don't think anyone is trying to say she doesn't like men; I'm saying she comes off as liking women more.

Well, enjoying the company of women doesn't mean she prefers relationships with women. She doesn't seem to care as long as you flatter her (Leliana likes to be faltered while you can be rude to Morrigan and she won't care).

I think Leliana prefers the company of women mostly because she SO GIRLY. She loves shoes, LOVES SHOES. She can't exactly go on and on about shoes,.clothes, jewelry with a man.

Male-hetero romance choices are poor. You have the intrested witch ****, with no hope of normal relation, and the fanatic "i can talk to god" bisexual cold killer. Well gay romance, with mister "i make love and then i kill you" elf is not better. Seriously, i guess it's alistair the most interesting relationship.

I call them as I see them, and I'm only making judgments on what's presented in the game. I'm not saying the relationship between Leliana and a male PC would be less meaningful to Leliana than one with a female PC. The PC is someone she falls in love with, and love is blind. It doesn't matter what she prefers in general if she falls in love with an individual.

I think so too, but there's a lot more too it than that. I think in general Leliana prefers women.

I've yet to start a second playthrough, but in terms of sheer emotional impact I have a hard time imagining any of the other romances coming even remotely close to Morrigan's romance plot.

Yes, I'm a softy. Just like Sten.

I initially thought I'd enjoy the Morrigan romance more due to Claudia Black's voice (she did a fantastic job), and because of her integral role in the overall story. But something about Leliana gets me. She's cute, and I've got a thing for cute chicks I guess. Love the French accent too. Also, Morrigan is far too mean-spirited for my tastes.

And lets not forget about the pet that you can buy Leliana. She named it Schmooples! SCHMOOPLES! I should make a group dedicated to how adorable Schmooples is.

Eh, maybe your right:

* Leliana: "You are very beautiful Morrigan."
* Morrigan: "Tell me something I do not know."
* Leliana: "But you always dress in such rags. It suits you I suppose. A little tear here, a little rip there to show some skin. I understand."
* Morrigan: "You understand I lived in a forest, I hope?"
* Leliana: "Maybe we could get you in a nice dress one day. Silk. No, maybe velvet. Velvet is heavier, better to guard against the cold in Ferelden. Dark red velvet, yes. With gold embroidery. It should be cut low in the front of course, we don't want to hide your features."
* Morrigan: "Stop looking at my breasts like that. Tis most disturbing!"
* Leliana: "You don't think so? And if it's cut low in the front we must put your hair up to show off that lovely neck."
* Morrigan: "You are insane. I would sooner let Alistair dress me."
* Leliana: "It'll be fun, I promise! We'll get some shoes too! Ah, shoes! We could go shopping together!"

Yeah...............

Then again, the bi-girls I know say they perfer women but end up in relationships with men because theres far less drama. So your proably right.

I really didn't want a repeat of what happened with Viconia and I had an inkling that romancing Morrigan would ultimately end in tragedy so I went after Leliana so my character could at least have a chance at a happy ending.

That said, I really like Leliana's romance.  She strikes me as someone who can kick your ass, but who, at the same time, isn't afraid to be a woman.  Wynne commented on it best: It warms the bones to see a bright spot in the mist of all the darkness.

The girl at the start of the Human Noble origin.

I just want to say, "Nooooo! Get away from that door! We heard shouting and my war dog is spazzing out. Its common sense!"
