Wasn't there only like... only one person in all of PAX that voiced their complaints about DA2? I seem to remember that being said by someone in an interview.
Probably, but it's a lot harder to walk up to someone in person and tell them something they worked on sucks. My suspicion is that there were some folks who left the PAX booth wondering why we'd changed things, or somewhat disappointed. But I KNOW there were lots of people who walked out saying: "That was really cool!"
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: you cannot please everyone. I don't try to, because the attempt results in watered-down mush. To use an extreme example, If the singular most important thing to you in Origins was that no one jumped, ever, then this game will disappoint on that front. If, however, you loved the world, story, party, tactical combinations of four party members and feeling like you were having impact on the world, then you'll be just fine.
But don't take my word for it. There's no need to. There'll be more details on the game and story between now and March (and yes, some before January, when the whole signiture edition deadline comes), but we've still got some time between now and then.
Besides, isn't the anticipation lovely?
