Only some? I get the impression that quite many do not like the new direction - a lot more than those who do like the new direction.

The minority is always the loudest. Look at ME2, people b!tch about it all the time, while in every poll the majority prefers ME2 over ME1 and every user score on every site is higher for ME2 than ME1.

And Cimarron won Best Picture while City Lights wasn't even nominated.  The majority gets a lot of things wrong!

So because you don't like it, that means the majority is wrong? =]

Just because the majority prefer something does not mean it's beter or good *looks at a lot of the FPS*

But just because a few disgruntled people are yelling at the top of their lungs doesn't make it any worse for wear.

That's a critic award, the people have no say in it.

No, it means YOU don't agree with them and the opinion of one individual matters little to none. Things are popular for a reason, they're popular 'cos people like them.

Look at political elections, it's the majority that matters while you might have voted for someone else

Majoity means nothing. All it is is a number where more people prefer something, that does not mean anything. CoD4 won more awards then ME, your tellnig me because the majority liked the game more, it is better then ME =]

It's an industry award voted by people in the industry, not critics. But it doesn't really matter, a majority of people thought so.

I'd wager you'd struggle to find anyone now who considers Cimarron (a mediocre movie) better than City Lights (widely regarded as one of the best films ever made).

It's merely one example of time proving something wrong, after all time makes fools of us all.

Why? If they do something that majority wants, they'll sell more. Also, if they decide to waste money in something that only the minority wants they'll lose the chance to use it on something lots of people want. Of course, they should aways be faithful to their ideals, but I can't blame them to listen to majority a little.

So, you're arguing that in a hundred years people will say ME1>ME2, while now they say ME2>ME1 ?

Well then, I say that in a hundred years people will consider Alpha Protocol the greatest game ever made

Then Cimarron winnig means nothing then. City lights is more popular and is prefered more then that movie. It might have won best picture but it means ntohing if you want to compare reviews from critics and watchers, sales, rating and so on.

If that's how Bioware does things, then ME3 will fail hard and DA3 will also be at the risk of failing.

Just like ME2 there'll always be a minority that didn't like Avatar, while the majority loved it. It isn't the highest grossing movie ever for nothing

Yet it didn't win best movie of the year:wizard:

Highest grossing means nothing. X man 3 did very well in the box office and that movie blowed.

It does. It suggests it was successful amongst the masses, it suggests what worked and what didn't and allows for a sequel. If they cater to a minority and the game isn't financially viable, the minority is happy but there won't ever be a sequel nor will there be much post-launch support.

Here on the forums, perhaps. Yet at ComiCon at least 10 people out of every group of 20 that played it stood up out of their chair and came over to explicitly tell me how awesome they thought it was to play. And not once was there a group without a sizeable representation of people who had played DA:O in it.

So, yes, I believe that there are quite a few people who enjoy the new direction and think it's a lot of fun. I've met them and signed their posters.

Dammit, now I wish I'd had time to go to PAX. Conventions are a lot of fun.

Wasn't there only like... only one person in all of PAX that voiced their complaints about DA2? I seem to remember that being said by someone in an interview.

The Oscars are not made up of critics, they are made up of people from the industry (around 5,000) ie, actors, writers, directors.
