The minority is always the loudest.

Correction, it's the people who don't like the thing in question that tend to be the loudest. But that in itself has no relevance on whether these people make minority or majority of the group. Since you can't really make presumptions on how the people who just don't care enough to make their opinion known actually feel about the matter at hand.

Wake me up when there's actually a new thread in here instead of people starting up the ten millionth thread on this video again. Well, at least now instead of devolving into "what an RPG is" or "old-school vs. I'm okay with change" it's now "critically acclaimed films vs.blockbusters."

Since we've apparently moved on to movie analogy-land, The Lord of the Rings series was both critically acclaimed AND made gobs of money AND scored oodles of Oscars, so hey, sometimes we end up with a movie that A) makes tons of money and B) also happens to be a fine piece of film-making..

Batman Begins and Dark Knight also come to mind, along with the Star Trek reboot (aka Star Trek XI) as far as more modern films go (all popular with moviegoers and critics). And if you want to discuss Hollywood injustices of yore, how about the fact the Alfred hitchcock never won an Oscar, despite creating movies that were actually popular, received critical praise and made money, eh?

Boohoo, CImarron beat City Lights (EDIT: and technically, City Lights wasn't even nominated)- hitchcock got a big goose egg for his entire body of work, and the only Oscar he ever got was the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award - aka the honorary Oscar. *rolleyes*

Heck, Spielberg was pretty much Mr. Blockbuster, but it was only after Schindler's List that he was finally recognized for actually being good at his job. At any rate, sometimes you can achieve both things in a game: make money (aka being popular with the masses) and still be critically acclaimed (aka...being critically acclaimed :P )..

Gargh!, this is completely intolerable, I really liked the combat in Origins and now I hear that what we will see in Dragon Age II will be more akin to Dynasty.  Not Impressed.

Dynasty is a gross exaggeration. Fable would be closer if you would pick anything. Edit: Even then, it is very different from Fable, just saying that it is closer to Fable than Dynasty, but whatever.

Dynasty Warriors, for those who haven't seen or played it: Remember the opening scenes to the Fellowship of the Ring movie? It showed Sauron come out with a huge mace and he swung it once, sending multiple soldiers flying and humans and elves were dying by the score? Now imagine your character is Sauron, and you are wiping out entire troops in a matter of moments. That is Dynasty Warriors, where you were truly an army of one.

I kinda thought it looked like a Dynasty Warrior type combat also. Very fast paced.

Sure it was fast, but I wouldn't credit that as a unique feature to Dynasty Warriors and saying that it looks like dynasty warriors is as gross of an exaggeration as saying that it looks like Bayonetta if you played using the sword because of the fast combat.

Dynasty Warrior type combat is about taking out scores of people in a single move or combo. A similar game would be Ninety Nine Nights, where you can rack up hundreds of kills in a single mission.

Just my 2 cents.

Wow....I hope that fist post video is a really rough draft because it looks horrible. It probably is though because the environment is really plain.

We've already said that we don't appreciate links to bootleg footage being put up on the forums and treated as representative. We'll put out our own gameplay footage soon, and then you can all proceed to overreact to it at your leisure. :)

It does seem like that now that I think about it......hmm....I hope the mage attacks work out better.
