Did I dismiss what you said? I'm sorry you feel that way. That wasn't my intention. What I meant to say was frankly I don't buy it. I'm not saying it's not true for your PC but for mine? I don't buy it. Trian didn't suddenly develope into a douche in a few months Bhelen's resentment didn't suddenly show up in a month and the PC didn't get in their position by not paying attention to what's going around them.

dude.... I agree. same with my dwarf noble.

I feel Trian was always abrasive but it's been slowly getting worse, Bhelen's resentment was always there but he slowly started to display it, the DN didn't have to do anything to be in their position as they were born into it and they may very well have noticed Trian and Bhelen's personality changes but that doesn't mean they have to instantly know why things have been changing. They're not psychic and are just making do with what they can see.

What don't you buy?  That Bhelen could pretend to like someone he didn't? I've seen many a teenage girl pull that one off. That Bhelen might have just started to act otherwise the day the origin started? That's not my belief either. I think he was slowly doing it over several weeks...which doesn't say anything about my PC but how I view the rest of the Aeducans. That a DN wouldn't necessarily have to see Bhelen disliking Trian (no matter when he figured it out) as Bhelen actively plotting against Trian before he clues you in? Sure, why not? As it happens, my main DN was suspicious of Bhelen's 'kill Trian!' talk but simply didn't have time in the less-than-a-day before Trian died to try and do anything about it.

And my DN has been suspicious for a while. But I'm not going to argue the point because I don't believe him launching so a well executed plan over the course of a few weeks.

that wasn't the guardian. It's a part of the person's soul. The guardian is just able to make that feeling, sentiment, whatever you call it manifest itself. There's a saying that goes like this...

"Everyone carries a bit of everyone they know inside of themselves"

We each leave our mark on another person. a bit of our soul, a bit of our attitude, a bit of who we are. The Guardian is able to give form to the one point in the Warden's life that they feel regret and sorrow for the most

That doesn't mean that it had to be what Trian really would have said. Maybe you just want a forgiving brother and so it's projecting your thoughts about that.

Are you talking about Bhelen? I know he didn't. I'm not saying he didn't. I think it took YEARS. The DN is free to be suspicious but that doesn't mean Bhelen ****ed up and revealed what was going on that early. I'm saying that while Bhelen was first getting support, he didn't act hostile towards Trian. It was later as the day of the plan was coming closer that he slowly started to show resentment so his 'confession' would be more believable.

I love how this is getting all philosophical. So now we're a bunch of philosophizers lol.

Good point though. You can believe that idea if you want. I'll believe that's what Trian truly felt.

No one said he screwed up. But do you have siblings? It's a lot harder to pretend every single second of the day than you think it is. Little things that strangers, and people you work with wouldn't notice would send alarm bells to a sibling. (Of course this isn't always the case). I just choose to believe my DN tagged along Bhelen alot. Dwarves aren't perfect.

Edit: Assumptions = bad. Sorry about that.

...It's a difference of opinion. Wow. Different ways of Roleplaying who would've thought.

Particulary the fact that you can seem so geninunely betrayed as though you were close to Bhelen sealed the deal with this interpretation with me.

But of course. This is my interpretation. You can rip it apart if you wish but that won't force me to stop roleplaying that way.

I guess that's the thing about Bioware games. We make our characters and they're as real as you and me (figuratively speaking). Your DN's life isn't the same as mine. Maybe your DN was born with a sixth toe. Maybe mine picked up a dagger at two years old and killed his first nug.

I do find it a bit hard to believe that Bhelen could win the necessary backing from the assembly without anyone realizing that he's up to something. Particularly when the PC is a political type themselves. But I guess Bhelen is supposed to be a genius.

Though, maybe I should wait to see if a Bioware rep notices this topic. They'd know more than us, wouldn't you say?

I wasn't expecting that. but I guess people aren't simple. They can't be summed up in "the Developers are an all-knowing breed of humans who are gods among men."
