Greetings everyone,

New to both the game and the forum, what more i can say, amazing. Been waiting for a game like this since NWN and the game really gives me an epic feeling and that's just terrific.

So I started the game with my City Elf warrior and after like 2 hours of gameplay i realized i've done something wrong with the character development. Now planning to start all over again with a Human Noble Warrior, will go with the Dual-Wield pathway.

To avoid repeating the old mistake...would like to seek some more advices from all of you :)

Easy question, to adapt to a Berserker's path. How should I spend my status points? Like should i get dex to at least a certain level first or? And also, I suppose combat training and tactics are both essential to a warrior? Should I max them out or should I get other skill to fun around?

Thanks heaps for giving advices!! B)

Well I am planning to get into the REAVER POOL for one thing (Hit a temp snag to get it with my Dalish elf warrior right now which will be fixed in time) but I am mainly hitting Dexterity, cunning, Strength, and combat training (which is essential to gain more dual sword attacks later down the line). Tactics? I don't remember what pools I got but I have survival so I can spot enemies better (Even behind doors. I can see 6 on the left, 5 on my right, 3 bellow me). I also been trying to get into herbology so I can make healing items myself till I get Wynne.

These are my thoughts. You don't need to go by my example.

As with all characters, the first thing you want to do is make sure that you spend your points in such a way that you meet all the prerequisits for the weapon/magic skills you're aiming for. For a DW Warrior, that means ramping up your Dexterity. Strength will increase your melee damage and also satisfy gear requirements. Beyond that, you can continue to pump your DPS stats if you like, but I personally recommend focusing on Willpower and Costitution; all the talents in the world won't do you any good if you're not alive or don't have the stamina to use them. Finally, don't forget to put some points into Cunning (up to 16) if you're taking the Coercian skill, though I recommend doing so after you complete the Broken Circle quest so you don't waste any points here.

Thanks for that!

So i suppose Berserker is a good specialization for a DW warrior?

Yes i had good time with my DW elf warrior. Some advise, grab dual strike ability and momentum, dual strike does exrtra damage though makes it impossible to hit criticals or back stab, momentum increases your attack speed the more you fight, add beserk onto that and everything in the room dies

I am running a DW Human noble, and one frustrating aspect that I have run into is the lack of protection against arrows. Early on, darkspawn archers and the like drove me insane with pinning shots, often killing my pc before I could reach them. At a certain point, after specializing in Templar, I was able to disable them with holy smite, and now I have enough hp to wade through anything to get to them. Just be aware that you will have to find some way to deal with archers in the early going, as my understanding (since I haven't run a sword/shield pc yet) is that shields provide a lot more arrow defense.

I'm level ... 18 now, playing human noble with full dw, partial berserker, warrior and templar trees, as well as drinking the blood from the keep ; the build dishes out plenty of damage single target and area of effect. That being said, I found myself doing as Gaudion is doing -- pumping Willpower and Constitution for the very same reason. The only thing I'm sad about is that Haste, Momentum, and Power of Blood's (Reaver-ish skill) IAS (increased attack speed) effects don't seem to stack; in fact, attacking seems slower when you have all three activated instead of just two, which is fine now since I recently turned hardmode on and the damage loss is just too much from the Reaver-ish skill. And oh yeah, Precise Striking is also always on.
