My impression of the email was pretty much "deal with it."

Would be quite lame if it over-rides your choices in the series so far. On a secondary note, they shouldn't be putting any player choices into the realm of comics or novels as someone else noted it is a poor way to tell a story, particularly if the player doesn't have access to the comics/novels.

Councillor Udina!? :o First Retribution, and now here.
Oh dear.

Anderson left his post to hunt Cerberus and help Kahlee to investigate reaper tech. Udina is now councillor no matter what choice we made in ME1.
I like it because it may be hint of Anderson being a squadmate in ME3.

Why would you want that though? David Anderson is a Dinosaur who says himself that he shouldn't be out there fighting. If he comes out and joins your squad he should realistically die. Besides what could he possibly bring to the table?

I'm not trying to be a jerk, I just don't understand why people want so badly for ME1 LI DLC in ME2 or Anderson as a Squadmate.

Anyway was that the whole comic? Because it does say the end and after I got two issues of that Redemption Comic I could completely see that being all. As interested as I'd be in finding out who set Palin up, I'll just wait for the Wikia to tell me. Killing Palin seems like a bold move for a Comic to do.

Weird I guess.

Bull.  Anderson is all of 48 years old as of ME2 and current medical tech keeps people fit and relatively youthful well into their 60s or even 70s.  Anderson is just bummed out and trying to convince himself all the politics matter when he tells Shep that.  And then there's Zaeed, who is very likely older than Anderson, and has definitely lived harder, and yet he's still effective.

Touche my friend. I accept your argument.

I still wouldn't like Anderson as a squadmate.

Maybe the next story DLC will remedy this whole Udina becomes Councilor in the end thing. Like Anderson resigning in the DLC if he is Councilor.

Yeah, I'd prefer him as ME3's version of TIM, or at least one of the main questgivers, myself.  Having him as a guest squadmate for something about the length of Lazarus Station could work though.  Like you're just hanging out with him and the location you're in gets raided or something, so you team-up to fight your way out. Any more than that though?  Nah. It'd just be weird to have Anderson following Shep's orders for the whole game or hanging out waiting for Shep to haul him out of Normandy storage.

It seems to me they have the perfect out with Udina: he's kind of a weasel, he's still got a lot of connections, he's willing to play dirty politics, and he's disgruntled over Anderson getting picked over him.   Now combine it with Anderson being that guy who keeps pestering the rest of the Council about the Reapers, and probably bugging people in the Alliance about it, and you've got a perfect situation for Udina to exploit:  he does his thing, whispers in the right ears or whatever, and gets Anderson replaced...with himself.  Then, because  making it seem like Anderson was some screw-up who had to go is a bad move and wouldn't reflect well on humanity, they shunt him into a diplomatic position on the Citadel along with a mostly symbolic promotion to Admiral and convince him to go along with it like he went along with being shunted aside during the whole Saren thing.  And there you go: he's exactly where he needs to be for Retribution and he still got to be Councilor.

I hope they do make Retribution fit with all playthroughs, but Drew Kapryshyn basically said that one can't just stop being a Councilor... He sort of confirmed that he had to go against the game for the sake of making his story work and strongly implied that Udina was always councilor.. :(

No, he said "Anderson couldn't just leave if he was on the Council", meaning he couldn't up and quit on a whim the way he did his job in Retribution.  That's a very different thing from saying that it's impossible to stop being a Councilor short of death or whatever. And even if one insists that's what he meant, it's irrelevant because there's nothing in the games, comics, or novels that details exactly how the office of Councilor works. I.e., there's nothing to contradict except a particular interpretation of a personal email.

I know, that's basically what I'm saying...  In any case, let's be honest here, Drew is practically saying that in his book, Udina was always the councilor.  Don't get me wrong - I hope they ignore that and try to adapt Retribution to all playthroughs.

Sorry but Mac Walters should first get his facts right and correct all the missing and wrongs stuff he put into the Genesis Comic

If, I stress if, they force Udina in as Councillor then there should be the opportunity to expose his corruption and his actions in this comic.

Udina sets up Palin.

Shuts out Anderson

Then, along comes Shep, he/she talks to Bailey, discovers the questionable setup job and lets Samara treat the corrupt politician the way she has been for the last 400+ years.

Find peace...
