 Just that IMO, the Asari look kinda bald and ugly straight-on, but I really see the elegance and beauty Bioware intended in them from the side. Anyone else?

Look good from every angle if you ask me. Except maybe an angle that is centred on the back of their head, reminds me of a giant squid.

The back of their heads don't detract from their appearance, at least for me, since its more akin to a hair analogue. Besides if you don't like it Shepard can just get them like a nurse's cap or some other costume piece to cover it when they're doing it Varren-style.

The back of the head is the only trully alien part of their appearance, without they would just be blue human females. Still hot but not as much.

I think I'm the minority here, but I can't get past the skin folds or whatever on the back of their heads. They really creep me out.

Asari are only as hot as an equivalently well-endowed human female. Blue skin is cool for a while, and the all female thing is kinda sexy, but I don't get the whole "EVERYONE LOVES ASARI" thing.

Funny, I think they're worse from the side than head-on. I don't know what's going on with the backs of their necks but it really doesn't work for me. Well, it works from directly behind, since from there it's all funny tentacle stuff and it's like, "ok, alien." But the combo of the smooth skin and the weird wrinkles you get from the side is a little too uncanny valley for me.

This would be THE most hilarious thing ever.

I wouldn't be surprised if some Bioware programer made like an Asari tentacle fro, just for fun.

I think the Asari are a little fugly as well, although for me it's just because the faces are ugly, the tentacle head/neck thing doesn't bother me in the slightest (except for the lack of model variety, how about longer tentacles on some asari?).



For example, Liara (LoTSB version) and Samara (and "you know who") look excellent, but a lot of the other asari are ugly looking.

why don't the Asari have long hair/tentacle things? They all have the same type of hair. But to respond to OP I do feel the same way straight on they look bald but side they look like nice.

Asari have a very cool aesthetic. The wrinkly neck is sweet! The idea of no hair over the entire body is just....nice.

I’ve never really understood this fascination with blue alien chicks with tentacle heads. Not just in Mass Effect but in allot of other stories as well. Not that the Asari look bad and the way they dance is sexy but wouldn’t a pretty human chick dancing like that be more sexy?

Maybe it’s a guy thing...

They are good looking but they also look....strange? At least Liara's eyes is set too far apart, IMO.

But I'd rather have a human female. I'd miss all those ringlets with an asari (if they were real).

It's not a guy thing. I certainly don't find any aliens more attractive than humans, and actually find the asari unattractive. Maybe I just like hair too much.

If I would hazard a guess, I would say the reason some people are attracted to aliens over humans is the exotic angle.
