Yes, you can. You're thinking of the Revenant which is the special Collector Ship Assault Rifle. The Mattock is from the Firepower Pack DLC, and has no special in-game requirements.

Love the Revenant. It warms my heart to chew up enemies at close range in a hail of bullets. All the better if those bullets are Inferno rounds.

As heavy weapons go, the Arc Projector is a thing of beauty, and I've actually grown really fond of the Avalanche (in large part thanks to AverageGatsby's Engineer videos).

Widow. Nothing more satsifying than using Assassination Cloak, go behind enemy lines and shoot them in the head with Warp Ammo IMO.

I play(ed) shooters competitively so I'm drawn to semi-auto weapons the most (I have a quick right index finger ). Love the Carnifax, Mattock, and Phalanx, Phalanx especially. Pistol sniping is great fun, especially on Haestrom. I've done 8 or 9 playthroughs and never used Shotguns once, but Im doing a Shotgun Engineer right now and the Scimitar is really growing on me (but I havent used the Katana or GPS at all yet, so those might become my favourites, who knows. I'm really impressed by how well the shotguns are balanced so far, there doesnt seem to be a "best" shotgun, though I've only had access to shottys for 2 missions so far).



For heavy weapons, I love the Arc Projector and the Firestorm. The Firestorm is pretty weak and only useful in specific situations, but it's so much fun to use and its really satisfying to set an entire group on fire while they try to fight a combat drone, plus it just looks really cool on Shep's back when it's holstered.
