Just wanted to put a post and see if I can get some feedback on the way I'm presenting a novel I'm writing.  The novel is Dragon Age: Retribution, a sequel to DA:O that I hope will bring some closure to some of the storylines in DA:O and create some new ones along the way.

It is my intent to begin storyboard and then creating a mod based on Retribution.

The web site is here:

Dragon Age: Retribution

Any feedback, positive and especially negative, is welcome on both the writing and the way in which it is presented.

FYI, there will be a download link made available in the future that will allow users to download the novel in PDF format for those that do not wish to read it on the web.

Holy crap dude. Thats amazing looking! Is the little baby in the upper left hand corner suppose to be Morrigan's OBG?  :o

Just one thing - where are we suppose to leave feedback? Here or is there somewhere else you would prefer. I don't have the time to read it right now - but I definitely will!

Just from briefly looking it over, its incredibly professional looking - I love the pictures you have on the left side of the screen, and the way one has to scroll is unique too. May I ask how long it took you to set it up? :D

ETA:  P.S.  Lack of Zev reference on first page made me a saaaad panda. =]

1. That is a creepy, creepy baby in the upper left-hand corner!

2. In the background image, did you anti-alias the text Dragon Age: Retribution? It doesn't look like it, and it detracts from what is an otherwise great background image.

3. Getting the story itself into some sort of plain-html or PDF download option sooner rather than later would be better. Mostly as an alternative for people who don't have the minimum screen resolution, For example, I'm on a 13" macbook that has a 1280x800 screen resolution, so the text box is quite short, especially for a fast reader. And if people want to take it mobile, like reading it off a smartphone or tablet or netbook, another way of viewing it would make it much easier. I tend to use Instapaper to read web-based stories, as it presents it in a nice ebook-like format. That, and I can sync between my laptop and ipad. I can't do that with your story currently, and that makes me sad. But that's me.

NICE CATCH!  I hadn't noticed but you are right.  Uploading anti-aliased text now.

Very good point.  I'll add that capability on the screen check page and on the UI sooner rather than later.

Glad you like it!

Yep, that would be Morrigan's baby.  Don't take anything from the appearance.  It could be evil, and then it could not be.  We'll just have to see. LOL

I'm working on a feedback utility right now.  Hopefully will have it up by tonight.  Either there or here is more than fine.

The scrolling is just a bit of JavaScript code.  The same page is used for all content with picture and text placeholders being replaced dynamically depending on what chapter has been requested.

Knew there would be some people who didn't like that.  I am not sure to what extent Zev will make be in the story.  This is a sequel but it is its own entity as well.
