I was bored and reading the wikipedia article on Dragon Age, and saw something interesting.  In there, it mentions that the Sword of the Forbidden can be used to slay the Archdemon without dying yourself.  Anyone know the truth of this rumor?

Maybe it's secretly the Heirloom sword from the Human Noble origin? Mother does tell you to keep it forever after all .

Honestly this is wikipedia we're talking about here. I wouldn't take it as completely reliable. So far I haven't heard word one about this sword till that entry. It could be a fake, or it could be in the game. No ones gotten 100% complete yet so there's no way to know really. If it is real, I'd definitely be interested in it that's for sure... provided of course it doesn't use the same sword model that most of the swords in this game use o.o

Another one you should try out is refusing to let Leliana join your party because she is crazy.  Later she meets up with you again and if Alastair is in your party you get some humorous "hidden" dialogue in the conversation .

Seems this game has a lot of hidden dialogues that aren't obvious to get.  Must be why I have completed the entire game once and almost completed it a second time with a completely different style of character but still only have 61% completion

Yes, it is quite possible that Bioware planned for a "all characters survive" ending and had the sword in there as an initial idea; then later they came up with the Morrigan idea and so scrapped the generic Sword ending.

That sounds like a logical explanation, some of the things on that wiki page seem a little outdated (Loghain hopes to help Cailin? When? Where? Are we talking about the same Loghain?).

According to the wiki dates, at the time they added the note about Sword of Forbidden ending, Morrigan's ending was already present. I guess Bioware really just want there to be no easy way out and no easy decision when it comes to the ending.

Let's be honest. If Sword of Forbidden is an available ending, it will most likely be the popular ending and completely overshadows the other, more "difficult" endings.

Morrigan’s role was actually the first conceived of in the game. Though someone else was the first actual character.
