Because if Hawke was a kid when Lothering fell to the darkspawn, and that event was within 1-2 years prior to the Warden defeating the Archdemon in DA:O, and Hawke is now in his/her 20s...well, all I can say is that Isabela has held up remarkably well!

Hawke is not a kid when Lothering falls, she starts as an adult.

Thanks for clearing that up for me.

When the first trailer appeared, there was a minority that claimed that the pirate lady was Isabela. We all laughed at their absurd theory, the woman from the trailer looked nothing like Isabela and they were being foolish.

Now they have their revenge.

I'm missing what the spoiler is. The fact that it's Isabela? But that's also on the main website, isn't it?

I find it funny that Rogue was the last job finished, but the first job in which specializations are known for it.

Ah well, Shadow/Duelist will be a fun combination, provided duelist doesn't suck like it did in Origins.

Wha?
Don't see anything anime about it, nor do I see blue hair. Posted Image

Its the usual EA mindset...more cleavage and butt shots=more games sold. Put ladies in the skimpiest outfits you can get away with. That's just a single piece with a micro skirt part added on.

I wouldn't say that's uniquely - or even distinctly - an EA mindset. In fact I'm sure there's an equally strong (if not stronger) argument to be made that it's a BioWare mindset.
I'll concede that it's a pretty revealing outfit. One could make some point about mobility in combat, not having pants and all, but I won't bother. You're right. Revealing outfit, sex appeal, etc.
But anime, blue hair, bikini armor? I'm guessing you were going for hyperbole... but there's enough of a disconnect there that it is very much a guess.

We got one character with a revealing outfit so far (and it kinda makes sense for that character) and it's already EA sexualized marketing strategy. Gimme a break please.
Isabela is far from being oversexualized. Revealing? Yes. But far from the likes of Ivy.

Apparently you didn't notice the changes from ME to ME2. If they wanted to be unique with this game they would take it in a less sexist direction instead of down the same old road. Male and female combat gear should be similar...not more revealing for females.

Look at Miranda and Jack from ME2 for example, they're dressed more for swinging on poles than going into battle.

Combat gear does seem to be similar for both genders. Look at one 2nd pic in the OP.
Isabela's clothes on the other hand are a unique outfit. Much like Morrigan's robes. Both are revealing. I'm sure there'll be less revealing options for you to equip Isabela and other companions with.

I noticed the changes. And you might have a point in so far as upping the sex-appeal factor may have played at least a part in the decision to have member-specific outfits. I can't say whether or not that was part of the decision, as I do not work for BioWare and have no insight into their decision-making process beyond what they allow to be seen (through forums and the like).
Still don't see any basis for the claim that tending towards sexually appealing female characters has anything to do with EA though. The ladies in Jade Empire were at least as scantily clad as Isabela is. There was also fair contingent of shirtless men.
And who's to say there won't be some male companion in DA2 who is sexually objectified to the same extent as Isabela (if she indeed is)?

Why is EA getting the blame from this when it was the DA:O team that was inspired by ME:2?

This was a choice of Bioware.  . .don't shift the blame.

Why were they inspired by ME2? Look at Morrigan's outfit from DAO.

DA:O was in development before Bioware was taken over by EA.

Pretty certain EA knew what DA:O was going to be before they took over the project.  IIRC the CEO of EA was in Elevation Partners which tried to buy Bioware before EA did.  He had to know what DA:O was.

I dunno, to me, the changes are more so Bioware not having faith in DA than EA not having faith in DA.  Which I suppose to say that Bioware wanted to make the characters look the way they did.

But I suppose since EA is known for canniblizing companies they will be the ones blamed for it first.

It reads:

"Rogues are also blessed with the talent of archery, and they can equip either a bow and arrow or dual daggers. Not too shabby."

Nowhere in that sentence does it say you're limited to daggers only.

Weapons are now grouped by thier assoisiated combat style as opposed to the actual type of the weapon. So rogues are limited to weapons that can be "dual-wielded" wich may or may not be dagger like weapons. Though as long as they don't funk with the animations, I can't see why there wont be longer swords for rogues to use.

Ugh...

John Riccitiello was President and COO of Electronic Arts left and co-founded EP, talked Bioware into merging with Pandemic *VG Holding Corp*.
JR left EP and went back to EA as CEO(2007), EA buys the merged Bio/Pandemic for around 800 million. Shortly after Pandemic is closed....
I still say its all fishy.
Also DA was officially announced what...2004?
Plus fans knew about it for some time before that. Does anyone really believe that EA would have allowed BW to make DA?

If it had not been in development for so long it would have never seen the light of day. EA (or maybe its the impatient stockholders) isn't known for letting developers make big/long, epic games.
Short with short development times and less than stellar QA is par for the course. All imho yes, but the best facts are history.

And yes, EA knew what Bioware was good at. There was the noteworthy remark that this purchase would allow them to compete in the RPG market since they lacked in it.

Since EA has Bio we've had Awakenings and ME2. I won't debate the quality or uberness/lack of in those games as that's best for OT or with the kind of tempers around these parts not at all.

I will say I just saw Diablo 3 gameplay...not impressed, looks like DS3 as well. I beliveve DA2 will be the better game, however Blizz is known for making games replayable, that is a concern here.

Bioware has been oversexulising characters for a long time. They did it in Jade Empire, they did it with ME, they did it in DAO, they did it in ME2, what makes you think they would change?

I didn't think ME was so bad.  Sure it had Chora's den, but the strippers were only minor characters.

The short dev time between DA:O and DA:2 just seems. . .like they were expecting DA to fail, and EA. . .I think if they were in control would have tried to churn out the exact same thing as Origins if they had the choice, DA:O outsold ME:2 by something close to 2:1.  It just doesn't seem logical a multimillion dollar corporation would change up something so much that sold, they would rather run it into the ground without changing much, much like Activision does with everything.

Just seems like it was Bioware's choice to me.

And to the above poster, blue space lesbians?  Come on.

Talking about liara's mother, not the strippers. Benzs outfit was unneeded and tasteless. The point is however is Bioware always does it so I don't see why people are complainig or saying "DA2 is taking the ME2 road" when Bioware has been doing this since JE.:wizard:
