This may be the first time where I use the default appearance - Hawke just looks great.

I won´t. The beard reminds me too much of Duncan but with white skin. I´ll probably use femHawke default but black.

I'm guessing this makes Isabela the lesbian romance, since she was bi last game.

I'll admit, I am kinda saddened, I liked Isabela ok last game but I don't think I'd want to romance her.

I felt I was guessing most of the time in ME2. Unless this version of that system is leaps and bounds better, I'm pretty sure I'll still feel like I'm guessing.

well for starters, there is the added icon in the middle that tells what type of response it is, and the writer team is the one from DA:origins and not ME

Unfortunately, "better than ME" is an extremely low bar.  And not nearly good enough.  Something approaching the predictability of DAO's dialogue is what is required.

Well....there is really little gameplay even tho the trailer is awesone. I guess perhaps because this trailer was meant to raise awareness and not "inform" about the game itself. Point is the vast majority of people here are already aware and frothing at the mouth so this kind of cinematic trailer is but a tease..albeit a very exciting and well tailored tease.

Now we just need to wait for the vidocs ME2 style...I think that would satisfy more people.

One which they're doing with the dialogue system in Deus Ex: Human Revolution! Its so simple and keeps everyone happy!

No it doesn't.  The first time I want see or hear the line spoken in its entirety is when it's coming out of my character's mouth.  Is my preference less valid?

You cannot please everybody all the time.

The fact that you want to guess what "your" character is going to say in the first place, is pretty strange to begin with.

I'm now of the opinion that we should have the option of the full line at the bottom like Deus Ex, that you can toggle on or off BUT how many times does it need to be said that going by the paraphrase is not a guess.

I felt I was guessing most of the time in ME2. Unless this version of that system is leaps and bounds better, I'm pretty sure I'll still feel like I'm guessing.

Sarah, I am with you on that, for I am still waiting for additional information on how the "Dialogue Wheel” will implement our intents using the paraphrase system, and also how it will eliminate the possibility of guessing wrongly (That is to exclude the emotional symbols that the “Dialogue Wheel” will utilize to relay intents.), which would cause our character to say something we did not intend* her/him to say.

Edit:  * see corrected word

It was a nice trailer.

I'd still like to see game-in-progress footage, though. Killing blows are nice and look good, but if after a killing blow the camera pulled up into an isometric view and showed the PC GUI and a guy giving orders with the game paused, it would be infinitely more informative.

Anyway. Stole this from Calla S at the Varric tread.

Bianca is awesome.

My biggest worry comes from the snark option.  When I'm talking to someone I want to be friends with, will I be able to tell if the snark is friendly and playful, or will I accidently say something mean and cutting?

Nicely done bioware. I do hope that the graphics will get 30% better and that varric also looks nicer and about 25% more detailed at release. but i do find that inquisitor woman`s voice irritating and a tad lame. but to sum it all up, i would give the trailer 8.8 out of ten. great, but not fantastic.

epic. fail.

To clarify, the graphics are much improved over what we've seen, we didn't gain **** from a gameplay aspect, and isabela... tell me your joking.

Great trailer, can't wait to see people here dissect it. ;)

I have to admit I actually liked Cassandra's hair, although I liked the old style too.

That's a good point and a legitimate concern.  Hopefully there will be some distinction or atleast something in the paraphrase to indicate one way or the other.

Don't know, but going by what the devs have said, the companions react more to what you do with/to them regarding their issues than the tone you take with them (you won't become good friends with someone just by being "nice").

These represent the advancement in Character Design in Dragons Age 2??

Could you post some DA:O  orginal  NPC//PC for reference?

They look non-life-like and what is with her "Eyes"??

Please Post  some other screen captures that would make me WANT to play it?

"Better than ME" is perfectly fine, actually.  I was never confused or fooled by any choices; it's absurd to think that your experience is the only possible one and define what is "required" for some arbitrary measure of greatness.

Excrement! That's what I think of Mr. Sylvius the Mad! We're not laying pipe! We're talking about roleplaying!

All I'll say on Isabela is that at this stage is that I doubt she'll be a romance in any of my games either male or female.

Is it wrong that I hate Bioware right now? They are already gonna get my money for this game. Now they release this new trailer to torture me some more.

What do they want with all this torture? My soul?

No, they already have that.

It's just fun at this point.

You probably should've read the user agreement for this site a little more carefully, I'm thinking.

And how do you expect us to read the user agreements when you distract us with shinies like this kick-ass trailer? Posted Image

Then you weren't seeking sufficient detail from the options.

So, my request for a proper PC gameplay walkthrough video still stands- preferably before January.=]

I'm guessing at this point that we won't see a PC gameplay trailer until post-release, let alone before January 12th.

I still say we start a pool, and I've got first dibs on January 14th.

Well I for one do not regret pre-ordering the day after the signature edition was announced. Thank you Bioware.
