There wasn't a real. . .primary love interest in DA:O, why do people assume Isabela is going to be the primary love interest anyway?

Usually the first girl shown (who aren't old or a relative) in bioware games end up being important romances.
KOTOR- Bastilla
Jade Empire- Dawn Star
Mass Effect- Ashely Williams
Dragon Age- Morrigan
Mass Effect 2- Miranda

I suppose my argument is, none of these people (well, I dunno about Jade Empire, Didn't own an Xbox) are important romances.  You don't have to romance any of them.  And you can kill 3 of those people on your list.

Important characters, yes.  But important romances. . .not so much.  And I believe the devs have stated you don't have to even recruit the chick.  Just seems like classic Internet They Changed it, Now it sucks, to me, and I've seen how that has ruined every god damned discussion on other games, like Infamous 2, for example.

I, sadly, cannot comment on Jade Empire, but I'd argue Liara is Mass Effect's primary romance given her relevance to the plot.

As for Dragon Age, I'd say the same about Morrigan, although Alistair is on semi-equal footing as her during Origins. Given the nature of the Dark Ritual and the obviously unfinished roles (and inabilities to die) of both Morrigan and her mother, however, I'd say that she is without a doubt more important in the long run.

You don't have to romance Morrigan to do the Dark Ritual, and you don't even have to be the father of the child, 3 different people can be.  That's why I stated, important people, not so important romances.

I do agree with you about Mass Effect though, I don't care for the characters of any of the LI's in Mass Effect, so I suppose I've gotten used to not caring.

I love the expression on Bethany's face when she lights up the darkspawn! The facial expressions on the characters was one thing that was very special about Origins. I am glad that is still a part of DA2. The city is beautiful. And Varric's voice fits exactly how I imagined Varric would sound. I like Isabella's darker skin this time around. Good job Bioware!

The relative "importance" of any given love interest is pure, subjective opinion. I think such arguments are usually just thinly-disguised ways of saying "the choices I made during the game are more valid than the ones you made."

Four, actually.  Shepard can't kill Miranda in the literal sense, but she can wind up dying depending on what choices you make during the game.

I counted Bastilla, Ashley and Miranda. . . you can't kill Morrigan and I dunno who the hell Dawn Star is, but I assume you can kill her too, which would make the fourth.

Perhaps rewarding is the better term instead of important. Emotionally rewarding that is.*Spoilers for games mentioned above* From hearing bastilla turned to the dark side to learning that master li is dawn star's father, to deciding if you should leave ashley with the bomb, to deciding to go through with the dark ritual with Morrigan. Each of these situations are more rewarding when you have a romantic entanglement with said character.

As for if Liara was the more rewarding, I felt the the Vermire decision is more important to the story and so would being in a relationship with kaiden or ashley. I never felt any excitement from the Liara romance.

It sounds like you are doing precisely what Riona was talking about.

Well you do have the option to kill Morrigan; just a couple of DLCs later.

These are all view points, I'm entitled to an opinion as you are entitled not to listen. But these characters usually had an effect on the main story line so being in a relationship with them gives it a different feel. but in bioware games it's usually a safe bet that the first girl shown is A. Important to the story. and B. Romancable. IMO

Leaping at someone with a spear...not very bright. That might look cool in those Japanese films but it's very stupid and would lead to the persons quick demise.

Technically it's left to be ambiguous whether you kill her or not. . .I am quite certain, like the Heroic Sacrifice Bioware will disregard it.

That's... a beard? To be fair, it could be the light, but sometimes I look at the original picture and still see a beard. My vision is horrible, anyway.

There's no gameplay in this trailer.

"Gameplay" usually means footage from the actual in-game mode. These are cut-scenes people.

*Facepalms*

Major fail here.

I'm still waiting to see some in-game footage.

Does the game suck or something? Let's see the actual game already...

And I guess I'm the only one NOT getting a hard-on from these video game characters...

*throws hands up* Whatever.

Patience. I'd love a gameplay trailer if only to keep the stupidity at a minimum from the leaked rogue video from a couple weeks ago, but they do it at their pace, not ours.

Hi everyone! This is one of my first post on this forum, I want to say that in my opinion the trailer is epic, the graphics looks better than in DA, I like even the darkspwn, despite the fact thant I was a bit concerned about the change from DAO....plus, Varric' VA is fantastic, well choice BioWare!

Dude, this is ALL footage from the actual game, using the in-game engine.

All of the combat sequences are actual gameplay-the camera's just been put at a cinematic angle is all.

However, I can accept that that might not be good enough for you, so here's some brief gameplay.
Don't blame me if you think it sucks, though.

A razor? That screen shot makes her look like she has 5 o'clock shadow. Unless....... Well not that would be a surprise for our fearless hero if he does have a romance option with her:o
