So Cassandra went white and Isabela turned Rivaini?
Isabela was Riviani to begin with.
I'm talking skin color wise.
Compared to origins? No. She looks the same.
I think she looked as expected from the other trailer. A matter of opinion though *shrugs*
Edit: I mean skin-color wise.
Edit 2: I saw your other thread, never seen that picture.

I actually didn't quite like Isabela from Origins.
You didn't actually get to know much about her, to be honest. Her looks are different but will her voice be the same?
We considered keeping her looking as she did, but considering she was a pretty minor character in DAO it seems a bit self-limiting to keep her with the same look when we could do amazing things with a redesign. I think she looks great (and she was always Rivaini and dark-skinned, as I recall the lighting in the Pearl just made it difficult to tell).
As for the voice, it's a different voice actress but she sounds much the same as she did.
I guess the question would be: why not make it a whole new character, then? I suppose it's because we like Isabela, and we like the story that her being that Isabela brings into the mix. At any rate, Sheryl did a pretty awesome job on her.
Thanks for responding David. I appreciate it very much. You're right, we didn't get to know her very well so I'm excited to get to know her. I like the new appearance better. She definitely didn't look Rivaini in Origins.
Was there even concept art for the Rivaini people?

Hm, will update with correction. Is it, in fact, THE Isabela? She of the infamous Pearl threesome?
Yes. And I wrote her. Sort of. In many, many ways, she writes herself.

Ooh yeah the new templar armor is radsauce. I kinda liked the Templars in Origins...shame I'll have to mow down legions of them. Oh well!

Looks great! Isabela is seriously ugly though, you make her have a huge melon head to match her chest and that jaw, bloody hell.
It is looking good though.
Phew at last i'm not the only one that had this impression (and the same could be applied to varric's head)
But anyway the trailers looks really neat

If by "pigeon-holed" you mean Sheryl bouncing up and down in her chair going "Oh, me! Let me write her! Me me me!"

I hated it, seriously. This is not a new or random complaint for me. I was complaining about it back when I was first playing through DA:O. Except for I think only Ohgren none of the dwarves sound like dwarves. And a lot of them don't even look like dwarves either, except for being short. Why use the name "dwarves" at all if you're going to change everything about their appearance and manner. If we have to deal with Varric for a significant portion of the entire game and he's going to look and sound like that the entire way this game is going to really really irritate me. Everything else looked pretty darn impressive. (except for Isabela's chin, it was still "impresive" but not in a good way)Calla S wrote...

guess i can get used to Isabela..if she keeps her fighting skills and lose the "other" skills....well it's all good anyway..since my Warden was too busy playing cards anyway

Handmaiden was my first thought as well.

Because they are Dragon Age dwarves, not copypasta Tolkien dwarves. I approve of originality.the_one_54321 wrote...
