I love a nice Scottish accent but really, I've heard enough Scottish dwarves to last me a lifetime already. I don't need it in DA.

I hated it, seriously. This is not a new or random complaint for me. I was complaining about it back when I was first playing through DA:O. Except for I think only Ohgren none of the dwarves sound like dwarves. And a lot of them don't even look like dwarves either, except for being short. If we have to deal with Varric for a significant portion of the entire game and he's going to look and sound like that the entire way this game is going to really really irritate me. Because they are Dragon Age dwarves, not copypasta Tolkien dwarves.  I approve of originality.

It would have been "original" if they had made up their own race, like with the qunari. The qunari are awesome. The "dwarves" are anything but.

That's actually what I don't like about it. I don't specifically need a "scottish accent" for every dwarf, but this deep bardic tone he has is so off. It's as inappropriate as... well as 90% of the dwarves in DA:O. I have a very short list of things that I specifically strictly disliked about DA, but this is high on that list. In my eyes is all so wrong.

love the trailer, now im having an even harder time waiting.. i love the way casting seems now, im hoping its not just exaggeration, i dont think i saw casting out of it, maybe i did, but i love how its faster, mage hawk here i come!

EDIT: nvm.. i think i saw some european thing that said march 11th.. still, 3 days before birthday is a good gift lol

Except Tolkien didn't make dwarves.  Dwarves existed in various forms across cultures and many were not like Tolkien's dwarves.  Modern fantasy writers should no be limited into copying what Tolkien did if they want to make a fantasy world.  If you want Lord of the Rings Dwarves, read Tolkien again but don't bash someone for showing creativity.

That's another thing that I find really really odd around here. From what I've seen, it seems to me that a lot (a lot lot) of people have been mostly creating an idea of Varric's character within their own head with very very little of actual example and information to back it up. Maybe he really is like that. Then again, maybe he isn't. Once thing I did specifically notice in this trailer is one of his first lines in "what makes you think I know the truth." Perhaps "encouragable" isn't a word that's really going to fit with him except for the one instance we've seen with im exagerating.

Well like I said, it doesn't seem all that creative to me. It doesn't strike me as originality. It's not new. I'd rather they had not used the names "dwarves" or "elves" at all. They could have made all new races like the qunari, or like in ME. That would have been awesome. What they did just irritates me every time it takes center stage in the story.
