Whoa wait... So she's a companion now?
I haven't been following DA2 in awhile.
It's useless to follow stuff on this site periodically. Just check in once a month or wait till the game comes out. Finding out about stuff will only just make you super happy or fantastically sad at the changes.
Thanks for answering my question.

edit: actually, I'm not sure, I just kind of assumed that. DG did say "possible love interest," so I would assume that means companion as well.

Yeah, I don't know what they were thinking in having Immomen draw Ultimate Spider-Man. Bagley is a thousand times better whereas Immonen's drawing loos like something EVEN I could draw.Stanley Woo wrote...
Millions of Spider-Man fans are similarly distressed whenever a new artist draws the character since, for example, the Ramos Spider-Man, the Deodato Spider-Man, the Romita Jr. Spider-Man, and the McFarlane Spider-Man look very different from each other. Personally, I am shocked--SHOCKED, i say--that Spider-Man can stay the same character despite going through so many appearance changes without any character ever commenting on it.

Uh, that's cuz you're a girl and in all likelihood, are just gonna be fawning over Varric's hot and smexy chest hair throughout the whole game.ciaweth wrote...
I don't care what she looks like, as long as she can fight. Priorities, gentlemen. Not everyone's gonna look like your Porn Barbie ideal.

Personally, I'm glad that Isabela is returning; I'm a sucker for tie-ins to previous material. I never hopped in the sack with her, mind, but I did like her in Origins; she was interesting, strong. I like female characters who are capable individuals.
Agreed on all counts!
I hope that she's a romance option for females as well as males, because I know I'll probably choose to romance her, at least once.
Well, we already know she's bi, so there is hope for that at least (I'm not intending to romance her, but I'd love the option to be there for those who want it).

Its a matter of visual continuity, especially when its only the second game in the franchise and most everything is being changed such that it looks entirely different from what was established in Origins.

You're mistaken, John Epler. The ad hominem fallacy (if that's what you meant) is committed when one uses an insult to determine that someone's position is incorrect. You're weighing style over substance, which is incidentally a fallacy in itself. That being said, yes, I agree that people should strive to be less belligerent here.JohnEpler wrote...
I'm going to quite politely point out that veiling ad hominem inside the layers of an actual argument doesn't make it any less of ad hominem. If you want to disagree, that's cool! These forums are made for discussion and conversation, and it'd be pretty boring if everyone agreed on everything.
But if all you're looking to do is condescend and pick a fight, you might find that other forums may be more to your liking. Discuss the issues.

And now that BioWare have pretty much fulfilled my wishful thinking - second game in a row, first wish being Garrus' return - my first impulse is to not jump with joy but to complain how ugly she is and how they took away her awesome VO. Now does that make me a jerk or just a true, concerned, devoted fan

Yea, it'd be pretty much inexcusable if Isabela is only a romance option for males then.Riona45 wrote...

Perhaps not, but you could certainly get a lot closer to crafting such a character if you applied a little more effort, Mr. Gaider. It isn't hard to make a character look gorgeous. The Bar Maid you meet in Origins was easily the best looking woman in the game (assuming no mods are used) and I was a bit saddened that she wasn't recruitable and ended up settling for the Pimp amongst Pimps, Bann Teagen.. I'm not sure why you chose to make Isabela look manly, but as long as there is another L.I for me to choose, this isn't much of a problem for me.David Gaider wrote...

So the leading lady is a wh*re, and a pretty ugly one at that? Meh.
"Leading lady"? It's a companion, with an optional romance, and one you don't even have to recruit. If you really don't like her, then give her a pass. Seriously, the day we make a romanceable character that appeals to absolutely everyone (and, if female, isn't picked apart by forumites based on her facial features)... well, there's no need to speculate because that will never happen.

That said, I would be the happiest Zevran fangirl in the world if you import a game where he was in love with the warden, Isabela mentions in an offhand way about the Warden catching a former lover of hers that she thought would never settle down. More subtle than that, of course.
Yep, that alone would make me happy with DA2. Which is really kind of sad!
Edit: And at least you know there will be at least one bisexual love interest. I'm hoping for a male bisexual love interest as well

I'd like to see Old Tegrin come back.

Seems like a small world with all of the DAO characters making cameos/taking significant roles in DA2. What's the population of Thedas anyway?
Did you forget BG2 where EVERYONE and their mother turned up in or around Ahkatla
I don't know what to think about the pirate lady being that Isabela. I kind of got the feeling she was an older mature woman (the way she looked and the fact that she was a captain). Not Wynne's age but quite a bit older than Morrigan or Leliana for example... and now she looks young

Tegrin is a dead dwarf if he ever comes back in my game. Stupid man kept on intercepting my party when I was trying to trigger the meteorite over world map scene from Warden's Peak, causing the process to take at least an hour longer than it should have.Dave of Canada wrote...
