Well, we already know she's bi, so there is hope for that at least (I'm not intending to romance her, but I'd love the option to be there for those who want it).

That's what I'm hoping. ;)

Although, I should have prefaced my first post by saying that, really, I'll have to wait and see how her personality fleshes out in the new game before deciding anything; she seems great to me now, but who knows what I'll think after I've had her in my party awhile?

When I first read about Dragon Age, before I had ever decided to buy it, I saw a picture of all four romance options. I decided instantly that my female character would romance Morrigan (not knowing at the time anything at all about her) because I thought she was pretty. By the time I actually sat down and played the game, Alistair and easily stolen my heart away, and not only did I not ever bother to romance Morrigan with any character, but I didn't even keep her in my party half the time, because I found her so annoying.

Anyway, what I'm geting at is that I suppose I'll just have to wait and see. :)

Seems like a small world with all of the DAO characters making cameos/taking significant roles in DA2. What's the population of Thedas anyway?

Did you forget BG2 where EVERYONE and their mother turned up in or around Ahkatla Posted Image

At least in Isabela's case it makes sense, given that she is a sailor.  I thought many of the cameos in BG2 were gratuitous and hard to believe (and I generally enjoy cameos).

I don't know what to think about the pirate lady being that Isabela. I kind of got the feeling she was an older mature woman (the way she looked and the fact that she was a captain). Not Wynne's age but quite a bit older than Morrigan or Leliana for example... and now she looks young Posted Image

Well remember Morrigan was supposed to be in her late twenties or early thirties.

"Shemale" is actually a pretty offensive term. I know you're going for humor here, but I just thought I should say it.

Huh, that comment a while back about Morrigan being changed worries me, although it wasn't referenced, so might be bogus. Still worrisome, though. Flemeth has a new body, presumably, so that's okay. Doesn't really matter if the NPCs look slightly different, but I thought they'd keep the main characters as close to the same as possible. Changing Morrigan or Alistair? Wow. That's just...so not a good idea. Not if it's more than small changes necessitated by the game engine or texture map differences. They've seen the reaction that most morphs get, right?

Eh- its likely that Morrigan won't even be in DA2 beyond references, as Gaider has mentioned Claudia Black isn't doing any VO for DA2. Could have some voiceless cameo, but given how Witch Hunt ends, I think at most she''ll show up at the end, but I doubt that.

But I agree- its one thing to change the looks of minor NPCs like Isabela or Flemeth, given she is a shapeshifter. But, if they were to really mess with how Morrigan, Alistair or any of the main companions or NPCs looked, face-wise? That would be incredibly stupid, new art style or not.

She looks like a Sim from the Sims 3. Legit.

If that's the style they're going for I will make sadface but I guess such is life.

 Thats actually not far from the truth:lol:

The chin is not that wide. I think the small lips is what causes that effect.

It's curious to see her back. I honestly didn't expect that. Then again, I didn't have more contact with her than the necessary for my dwarfette to learn how to duel.

So, because Isabella is redesigned slightly, that is supposed to be a bad thing? Who cares, I am so glad she' going to be a party member :D

I'll admit, I thought her first design was more attractive.

She seemed like an interesting character in the first one... what we got to know about her. Certainly a free spirit. She'll be fine.

Meh. With a redesign of anything some people will be happy, some won't. You can't please everyone.

I think she looks fantastic and I'm more excited to play the game than ever today! :D

The whole art style changed, so I think it's valid to redesign some characters. I don't think the change is anywhere near as significant as people make it out to be.

Some people like continuity. Then again, the whole game is being redesigned, so it's a moot point. It's not as if they're remaking a prevalent character, she was little more than background noise in DA:O and so the rework isn't that bad.
I mean, if the redesigned, say, Leliana, with such a change, it might be a little more jarring. Yet, due to the open ended nature of DA:O, I believe most of the returning characters we'll see will be the little guys in the background, rather than any major players.

I agree that was a poor choice of words. But her proportions really do make her look like a man. Take a look at the last post on page 7.

People are talking about redesigns right now... Have people forgotten the amount of times that Morrigan was redesigned, or even Leliana? User-created-content, granted. But, still...

It's just cosmetic, man. Even if someone thinks she looks like a sheman, heman or whatever...it can be changed...

I just want to hear her voice! D:

Good thing DA2 will come with an update to the toolset... oh wait. Laidlaw's arm is getting tired of holding that carrot, he'll soon reveal they won't release it.

Even if a toolset is released, that does nothing for those of us who play consoles.

Yeah, this is what I fear too. Hopefully it is only to make them more distinct in the trailers.

Also note that they've said your main route to becoming friends with particular party members if through doing stuff with them, rather than through conversation options. Seems a lot like ME2 to me.

So is it safe to call it Dragon Effect yet or no?

'Kay, just looked at the still, and while I didn't notice anything that odd in the video, but I have to admit, that still is pretty bad. Yes, she has a big face that isn't matched by her body, but the real problem there is that her mouth is proprtionally incredibly tiny. This could be the result of a strange angle, in much the same way that DA:O characters sometimes turned their necks oddly and looked like turtles. One still really isn't enough to go on.

Guys, shemale is a rather offensive term, particularly to some members of our community. Please avoid it in the future.

True enough. ^_^

Am I the only one irked by the blue in her outfit? It seems to clash... I dunno, maybe not with her, per se, but with the rest of the colors in the trailer. It reminds me of that old alpha screenshot of DAO with the flashy blue pants...

Of course, I'm also irked by the I'm-too-cool-for-pants of I-wonder-who-that's-marketed-toward blegh-ness, but I already mentioned that earlier.

About her face looking like a man's face, I really don't get it. At most her face looks like a very effeminate, fair-skinned man's face. With a woman's body. An effeminate face on a woman's body sounds like a woman to me. Barring the occasional exception. Exception, as in, not the rule.

Well in a sense you could say it has a pro over the DAO system, in that you can no longer become bosom buddies with a person by simply throwing gifts at them and talking with them at camp, and never actually traveling with them anywhere.
