Sorry, but it's absolutely not true and utter BS. It's not a personal insult that attractive female characters exist. Pretty women don't make me angry. People don't have to find Isabela attractive nor have to want to romance her. What does cause the irritation is people valuing a woman's worth based on their perception on whether or not she's attractive to them or her sexuality and then acting like they're so victimized and insulted for being called out on their misogyny.

It is different to say "She is not attractive to me" than to say "She is fugly and they need to totally redo her until she looks like what I and people like me find hot  because it is gross for her to look any different."

I could be something happening when your eyes see a 2D image verses a 3D image? maybe she isn't "puffy" the pirate, but the flattening makes look like it.

With the amount of info at hand what is there to discuss intelligently? All there is some tidbits from the devs and some screenshots and video.. Plus it's not like this thread in particular was about anything besides the retcon on Isabela's looks.. It didn't get taken over..

If she's the same Isabela from Origins does that mean an imported save game would "note" her meeting with the Warden and his companions (and how exactly did it proceed, he-he) or does she suddenly get amnesia/meeting retconned, etc.? In short, would there be any story continuity from her Origins appearance?

LOL, oh. Nope, not really much of a resemblance. I look a lot more like my dad's side of the family but with my mom's coloring.

God forbid I look like Isabela, I'd be feeling really crappy about myself right about now. Though I imagine Isabela would laugh her ass off and continue on with her bad self.

This is only true if your definition of 'remotely attractive' is 'largely uncovered by clothing and with boobs that are bigger than her head.' If that's the case, then yeah, you're completely correct, I suppose.

Unless she happens to be a skan.. I'm sorry, "sexually empowered female" like Isabela. Then said Internet Females jump to her defense for some reason, in spite of the fact that she's prancing about in a mini-skirt and a thong.

Games are to play out fantasies, end of story, if they made every game with compltely normal people doing normal things (oh wait they do, the sims, lol) then the gaming industry would die.. Why do you think they made Jacob in ME2 about the most ripped mofo ever, because women liked it..

Nowhere did I ever say that it was wrong for a character to have her chest showing, or for her to be wearing a miniskirt with her cheeks hanging out. If that's what she wants to wear, fine. Appreciation of female bodies is not the issue here as much as saying that her worth is solely based on her body and face being up to their standards.

And the woman in my icon happens to be a dwarf as well, I can only imagine the vitriol she'd get if she were an LI.
