I suspected it was Isabela in the 1st trailer. Female Rivaini pirate etc.

Oghren, Leliana and now Isabela... the writers obviously like all the NPCs I could care less to see again. Image IPB  At least there's Flemeth.

I'd love to see Sigrun again. With my luck they'll bring back the Awakening Oghren.

If that's how she's supposed to look can I get an option in DA2 to erase the 3some? I don't do ugly chicks.

I thought she was fun, and her appearance/interaction from DA:O piqued my interest enough to be excited about her as a companion for DA:2. Your mileage may vary, of course.

Just hope the male LI is more interesting.  It would be kind of interesting if she has comments about Zevran killing her husband.

I really don't mind they made her more pirate-y looking its just that at least face wise she looks completely different. Not a big deal as you encounter her for all of 5 seconds in Origins, but its just another irksome thing when it comes to visual continuity in DA2.

My only concern in seeing characters so individualized is that I wonder how the armor will work with companions. They've said we'll have an inventory and all, but well, technically we had an inventory in ME2 as well.

Isabela needs to get in some damn armor cause her present pants-less outfit can't be too good for her health in massive "fight like a Spartan" combat.

Isabela looks gorgeous. The only thing I would change about her is her mouth. It's sort of... small. And high up on her face. I did a little shop to see what she'd look like with a wider mouth that's a bit farther down.

Yep. Still hot. I don't see the problem. *crosses fingers for F/F LI*

Hope you have programing skills so they can hire you.

Ahaha, I wish.

I love that Isabela is back, but now I'm REALLY hoping they make a DA2 Toolset so Dracomies can make a DA2 Redesigned version of her. :x I'm not digging her jaw and mouth at all, lol.

I love her jaw. All around, she's incredibly well-designed. I'm so sick and tired of soft-featured ladies in video games. There's absolutely nothing wrong with a strong jaw or a wide mouth. Nothing. Then again, my tastes no doubt differ from the masses. Oh well.

Doubtful, the angle they seem to be taking on this is her appearance in the first game never happened. Shame too because the character model was far more attractive in the first game. Not a fan of the "dew rag" and the enlarged busts. I'm sure the 13 year old male audience will love the latter though.

The blue scarf is going to stand out really nicely on the field. 8D Glad to see her back, if she's going to be the one supplying the naughty humor a la Zevran I will lol heartily.

I like wide mouths on women, and strong jaws can work too for certain ones. I'm saying the tiny mouth and the huge jaw combo... yeah, not digging that, lol.

So since she has a new voice actor, do Rivaini people have any particular accent?

If it sounds middle eastern, I'd <_<

What's wrong with middle eastern accents?

Nothing wrong with them, since I come from there.

But unless she sounds Berber like (and I am not sure how that sounds), she doesn't strike me as Middle Eastern or that she should sound like one.

And even if she did, Berbers aren't Middle Easterners per se. They're as far west as Europe and are connected to the Middle East only insofar as sharing land with the descendants of Arab settlers.

That being said, all "Middle Eastern" accents I've heard in games sound Latin, which is completely wrong.

Opinions differ. I prefer the character-styled appearances, as seen in ME2, over the generic Joe Smoe outfits any time.

What's wrong with it is that it is incredibly unattractive. If it weren't fro everything from the neck down I seriously would have thought that was a male model with pretty hair and lips. This is not hyperbole. I would have been confused.

As you mentioned, different tastes. My preference would be that she looked, in the face, completely different than she does now. The rest of the design is awesome.

At the cost of player customization. Sorry I think we've given up enough customization over the years to begin with.

I think that individualized body and clothing designs far outshines the benefits of customizable armor. We had customizable armor in DA:O and what it amounted to was a lot of really boring looks that were copy-paste of all the other really boring looks on the characters that had bodies that were copy-pase of the identical bodies other characters had. What's there to customize? Where's the flair? It was boring. It was customizable and all that meant was that everyone had to be the same.

Ooh. I love her redesign! (And from reading the pages, I see I'm not the only one playing with the idea of creating a face mod to make her Origins look more consistent with the new one).

Personally, I love her jawline; there are plenty of women in the world with stronger jaws/chins - heck, in some ethnic groups, it's more common. I like more variation in looks of characters, and to me there's more than one form of beauty. I think she's fantastic as she is. :D

This. I'm completely with you on that, Calla. :wizard: Not against soft-featured ladies, but they do take over the majority of female designs. I want variety (same goes for men, but to me it seems like there's more distinct-looking males in games than there are distinct-looking females. Or maybe that's just me.)

Ooh, and Sheryl wrote her? More good news for me! Noo, I'm not a Chee fangirl at all, why do you ask?

Is it sad that my enthusiasm for my new copy of Fable III pales in comparison to my giddiness over this trailer/little bit of news?

LOL  I'll recover, I'm sure.  And just go back to waiting on something that enthuses me about the game.  I'm sure eventually there will be... or so I keep thinking...

So rather than have the art department make more distinct and unique looking versions of armor. lets just give companions one outfit and remove gear customization altogether? Oh thats a wonderful idea! They've spent so much time changing the looks of so much of the rest of the game, darkspawn, characters, Flemeth, the art style, etc. why not go all out and make a ton of unique looking equipment?
