Lothering - Merchant that is argueing with priestess. Gives some dragonthorn? crossbow. Dex of 34 or 36 required I believe.

Got this last night in Lothering:  Imperium Crossbow (Dragonthorn Tier7), Range=52, STR 30 required.

The named Templar outside the chantry in Lothering has a nice 1H Sword (Oathkeeper?).

Tried all the Templars in Lothering, didn't get anything of significance though.

Isn't Oathkeepr a Quest reward item? I really didn't think Quest Reward items would be pickpocketable (if that's a word i'm shocked).

Bottom line is, playing a rogue is expensive! Between your poisons and bombs, you pay a LOT of money to fight at full force. I wish I'd paid more attention to my stealing skill when I was leveling up my rogue

If you pickpocket from the citizens of the Dalish village you will get an encounter where one of the defenders of the Dalish community attacks you with an armed force after telling you she knows you were stealing from her people.

I'm playing a dalish rogue.. I stole from everyone in my tribe and thought.. oh that's funny no one seems to care.. steeling doesn't matter.. I then stole from everyone in Ostagar and got a small lecture from Duncan about it.. Aha so stealing does matter a bit.. but not enough for me to care.. I then stole from everyone in Lothering. (I'm a dirty, dirty thief for stealing from the poor.) The results were that I couldn't get quests from a certain number of people and everyone called me a trouble maker. I then decided I needed to pick targets more carefully but kind of got caught up in questing and forgot about stealing... but as it is, my Dalish tribe moved on and Ostagar and Lothering were sacked.. So I guess my reputation hasn't followed me around. I just arrived in Denerim and found some nice thiefy quests.. so I guess I'll take up my old career again. It's been awhile since I 've stolen anything. We'll see if it has any bad consequences.

As far as those first three places went I received nothing of great value.

The barkeep in the Spoiled Princess at Calenhad has some basic poultices you steal, as well as a "Bad Luck Charm". 0 value, says it finds its way into the hands of thieves who will get what's coming to them soon enough.

Not valuable at all, but good for a chuckle.

You need to have level four of pickpocketing to steal in combat

I don't believe anyone has posted this yet. If you enter Denerims market place and go to the center where many of the shops are. There will be a women whose name is in yellow and she has two guards with her. If you pick pocket her, you get a tiara as a gift. So far I have not found who the best person is to gift the tiara to, and also the wiki doesn't have tiara up there as a gift yet.

Interesting.  I've stolen from almost everyone in Lothering, don't think I missed any quests yet though.  But I'll keep an eye out!

The only decent thing I've gotten so far is that Tiet7 Crossbow.

I had no idea picking pockets was so useful in DA. The questionable worth of such skills in past RPGs soured me to it before I ever gave it a chance. This thread is definitely helpful. Thanks!

There's an elf in the Redcliffe tavern, before you fight off the undead. He won't say much to you at first but if you pickpocket him you'll get a codex entry on some letter he had on him. You can use it to persuade him to fight the undead

Anyone found anything else cool from pickpocketing? The only decent thing I've found so far is that Tier7 crossbow.
