SPECS

CPU: Dual Core Pentium 2.7GHz
Graphics: ATI RADEON X1600 PRO
RAM: 3GB

I decided to buy ME2, and completed it, I know - should've bought ME1 first. But I decided I was going to buy it. I asked system req labs and they say i can run ME2 and not ME1, as my card is below reqs when in ME2 its perfectly fine?

Any help? Will my comp run it?

Thanks Image IPB

SRL is not very reliable, I wouldn't pay too much attention to them.

The x1000 series should be compatible with ME1 as long as the specific card is powerful enough. ME2 is heavier on the GPU than ME1, so if ME2 works I think you should be fine.

You're fine with that video card.  It should run both games very muh the same.  ME-2 has a different low end limit, but you aren't particularly close to that for either game -- not saying to expect higher quality settings or faster frame rates within one over the other.

There is exactly one use for System Requirements Labs, and it is most certainly *NOT* to hope for accuracy.  Those buffoons (IMO) are wrong so often that they are a laughing stock in most game forums.

If the reason you want to use such a place is an aversion to learning about the PC hardware, you (or such person for whom their sense of curiosity is nonexistent) should stay away from games for PCs and just stay with games for consoles.  PC Gamers want to know things, including what is inside of their PCs.  If you are new to PCs and / or games played on PCs and in a hurry, so you need an answer now, but you do plan to be learning enough not to need the crutch every time, there's a place to go.

It's the Game-o-Meter at YouGamers, and they are many tens of times more accurate than SR Labs, although they are certainly not perfect.  A new anomaly has cropped up there recently regarding the amount of VRAM attached to graphics cards, which temporarily negates the semi-automatic operation.  For the time being, you (anyone needing their service) should download their client program to run that on your system.

As to what aspect of SR Labs' services I consider useful, it's the fact that you can get a printout of their page that has the names and sizes and components found in your PC that will show up on any game's system requirements label, so while learning about games and PCs, you can carry the printout with you to EB Games and compare to the labels (if your EB still sells PC games, only one of about four here locally does that).
