DAO: Ultimate - Unauthorized content issue

Summary:
  • There's no option to register Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition on social.bioware.com/user_bw_games_register.php
  • No matter what I do, I can't access my authorized DLCs, including one I purchased and played successfully prior to installing Ultimate Edition.
I purchased and successfully played Dragon Age: Origins through Steam.  I also purchased, downloaded, and successfully played the Warden's Keep DLC.

Today, I purchased the Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition.  I had to uninstall my Steam copy (the CD didn't give me an "install" option - only "uninstall", which was irritating) and successfully installed the Ultimate Edition.

I entered the Ultimate Edition CD key when prompted and received no errors.

I accessed the social site, made sure I was logged in as me, and installed the promo code that should have given me authorized access to all the DLCs.

In the game, when I click Downloadable Content > Installed Content, every DLC is listed as (Unauthorized).  I attempted to follow the instructions on the very unhelpful EA help page regarding the (Unauthorized) error but had one problem: in Windows 7, I can't figure out how to turn off the updater service as directed:

"At the command prompt, type "net stop DAUpdaterSvc" and click OK."

I did everything else, launched the game, and discovered everything was now missing from the Downloadable Content area.  I restored everything to as it had been before.  I've also logged out, logged back in, and rebooted a couple of times.

I've logged into my online profile, and I verified (again) that I do have access to all the DLC.  I even went so far as to remove the old Steam registration code from my account.  Of course, then I realized that I couldn't register Ultimate Edition, and neither DA:Origins nor DA: Origins Awakening will accept the one single CD key that came with Ultimate Edition.

I'd really like to actually play the game.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: Sorry for the weird formatting.

Register your DLC code here.  You can then verify all DLC is attached correctly to your account here.

Make sure you login to the game once, using the same email/password as you use here on the site (email should be visible at the top of either of those pages to confirm).  Give it a couple minutes and your DLC should authorize.

If it is not - 99% likely the cause is something related to the DA updater service which is used to connect to the servers and check that your account has these dlc:
1) Try restarting the PC. Depending on windows version and whether you installed the game from disc vs digital service, the restart is sometimes needed for the DA updater service to take correctly.  This is also true for uninstall/re-install scenarios - restart after each step in that case.
2) Follow the steps in this thread to identify the issue and resolve it (depends on what the issue is).

Hope that helps.

I've let EA store folks know, and to confirm the emails are going out with the DLC codes.  If you have not received a DLC code please contact the EA Store directly, or EA customer support.

If you did receive this (whether purchased from EA Store, steam, other, or retail) but are having problems with unauthorized dlc - please follow the steps in this thread:

I've contacted the EA Store folks so they should be aware of this. Please continue to post here if you are still not getting this resolved.

If you are having issues with unauthorized content, please be sure to check this post:

Please try to contact EA Store again - they should now have the full info for this.

If you still do not have this resolved after 24h then please PM me - ensure you have registered your Ultimate Edition here on social first, and I'll try to get this resolved from our end.

If the DLC is attached to your account and you still see unauthorized in the game, then this is definitely an updater service issue. Please follow the steps in the thread, including jumping to the other threads that may have more details - this includes links to a beta utility to help kick-start the updater, and step by step guides to troubleshoot what is happening and how to manually start it (or re-install it) depending on your specific issue.

Apologies for those that pm'd me - I've been away the last few weeks due to a new addition to the family coming in unexpected early. I've now responded back to everyone that pm'd me, so if you're still having any issues please let me know (and check your inboxes here on the site).

Please review the threads I reference in this post:
social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/58/index/5151520

If you are seeing the DLC unauthorized issue (and have redeemed your DLC code and can see the DLCs attached to your account here on the site), then it is almost certainly a DA updater service issue.

The links on the page above will walk you through why this may have failed to install or run in your case, and more importantly how to correct this.  There is also a beta tool linked in there that may help for those not wishing to try the manual fixes.

If you are missing DLC codes (mostly seems to have affected a batch of EA Store digital players), please contact EA support.  If they were not able to resolve this completely, e.g. you are still missing some DLCs after contacting them, then please ping me and we'll do our best to resolve this for you directly - be aware that with DA2 approaching responses may be a little slower than normal, all devs do this on personal time (and for the DA team that's on short supply so please be patient).
