After completely installing the game and registering your game at the BioWare Social website, do the following:
**Completely exit Dragon Age Origins if you have it running**
1) Navigate to your DA:O Ultimate Edition Steam folder, in Windows 7 64-bit it is the following "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\dragon age ultimate edition\\redist". For all other versions of Windows, it will be something similar.
2) Run DAOU_UpdateAddinsXML_Steam.exe. After it completes, go to step 3.
3) Run DAUServiceSetup_Steam.exe. With the window still open, open a command prompt window by pressing Windows Key + R and type "services.msc" (without the quotes).
4) Scroll down and find "Dragon Age: Origins - Content Updater". Right click it and go to Properties. Set the Startup Type to Automatic, and click the "Start" button under Service status.
5) Click Apply, then OK. You can now close the Services window and the DAUServiceSetup_Steam.exe window.
6) Open the game and login to your EA account at the bottom left. Your DLC should now be authorized to your account.

I've got the same problem! So frustrating. I got a DVD verson of the Dragon Age Ultimate, and I can't find "Dragon Age: Origins - Content Updater" when I check the "services.msc" (Win 7).
I've read all the pages and I still can't autorize the game.
Anyone who can help me?

i have the problem where everything but awakening shows up as "unauthorized" when logged in. but when im logged out it works just fine. so my question is: is there really any reason for me to be logged in while i play? i mean i seem to be able to play my dlc with no issues as long as im logged out.

I have the same issue as Arwyr except it's all the additional content packs that came as part of the Ultimate Edition. Logged out I can play fine, dunno if it matters if I'm logged in or not though.

seems we are all in this boat regarding the DLC's and content. i tried what Derkum66 said and the game loads but as soon as i log in it claims i dont have everything that came with Ultimate Edition. very odd but then again the way EA have been today *especially the oh-so-unhelpfull tech support it''s no surprise. perhaps i just got 4 bad eggs in a row that want a pay rise

so is there some kind of downside to playing offline? cause i dont really care about achievements or my "online profile", so if thats really all thats different then theres no reason for me to worry about this.

i asked about this a while ago, seems besides authentication there's no real reason to play online.

I'm having the same problems as most others here. I have tbought the DVD version of DAO:ultimate.
This experience has turned me off buying any of Biowares games ever again. It is a wake up call as to how much better pirated software can be....

Well i've tried the services.msc thing and it worked, so i've loged out of Bioware servers, went to DLC menu and all was enabled and authorized. After that i've loaded last saved game made before the DA servers went down and guess what .. Dragon armor gone, half of my party was naked (Grey Warden Commander armor, some mage robes, my meteorit sword etc etc..) so i exited to main menu, went to DLC content and all was marked as active but unautorized again. Now doesnt matter what iam trying to do, all DLC contents but Awakening is unauthorized. I seriously doubt there is, or gonna be any working solution for this. I for myself iam dropping any further attempts to fix this, Bioware got me, only hope all of them will rot in hell.

I am also having this issue, which was very upsetting since I played this game fine for about 28hrs so far. Last night I went to play and was unable to since my Saved Games had DLC and all was unauthorized. However, logging out allows me to play and all my DLC seems to be working. I really don't care about the online stuff so will play offline for know until EA or Bioware get there act together.

I have the the problem with only Awakening showing up as authorized and I have tried everything suggested, spend several hours trying to figure it out.
It's very problematic that EA's aggressive DRM is ruining the experience for us. When I buy ultimate edition I shouldn't have to have a service running that makes sure I cannot play the game that I bought for whatever reason!
Mind you this isn't the first time I have had problems with bioware DLC, last time with the Originial Dragon Age: CE, it ruined my savegames so I had to start over 40 hours in.
Btw I had a tech supporter say it will be fixed within 24-48 hours...

Hey Bioware - get your fecking thumbs out of your collective butt and fix this ridiculous situation. I am going to see if legal action against you is possible - I've had it with your bull**** & lack of support for problems which you fecking created.

Add me to this list. Stupid thing is, in my online profile they are all showing as there, and logging out and back in again means the servers are at least responding, and the web content being there means my key info hasn't been stolen. Seems it's just the game check failing to integrate with the profile. V.POOR

Oh, great. Add me to the list. These days I "only" had the problem of that annoying popup of "Unable to connect". Now, suddenly, I have all my dlcs unauthorized. Great, Bioware, great.

So I bought the boxed edition of this game, waited two months for it to be delivered (I live in South Africa), installed it, registered it on both ea and bioware, used all of the relevant codes and tried everyone's suggestions on this forum and still can't get my dlc to work. This is extremely frustrating: I already own awakenings and origins seperately; the only reason I spent almost R1000 on this game was literally so that I could play the dlc's (specifically Witch Hunt) since I do not have access to a stable internet connection where I could have normally downloaded them. Or I could have bought a cracked version for like a tenth of the price, but hey, I figured that I should just be honest. That worked out really well. Any suggestions would be helpful.
