Can't this be fixed with a single sollution? I feel like I'm either screwing up my PC or my game files with everything people tell me to do :S Still no fix helped.

I tried "jhoang3"s sollution wich removed the "unauthorized" warning, but after starting a new game I am still missing the items I should have. I just start with an empty inventory.

This is getting annoying T_T

Well I uninstalled and reinstalled the game, now every list on the DLC section is just empty, can't buy any, and says nothing is installed. Tried restarting too and it didn't fix anything

I have the steam version btw

ditto...

I lost count of the un- and reinstallations... with or without keeping the settings,

it's always the same:

DLC appears on the BSN among my "registered game promotions", it shows up in DAO among the installed downloads however as 'unauthorized', removing that by word-padding through some file resolved that issue, however, it's still not in-game... no Shale, no blood-Dragon-Armor, the close-to-death-guy can be revived, but I can't access Ostagar afterwards, etcetc.

i bought the ultimate version from ea store yesterday too, and have the same problema , the solution from bioware is to introduce the dlc redeem code . Ok ea didn't send a dlc code , only the cd key so we can't activate that content we payed. The stupidest thing of all is that te ea support ask you to send that code they didn't send to us in order to solucionate the problem!!! So i only want to know from bioware people if you are gona make somthing about this or if i have to keep dealing with ea support trying to explain that they didn't gave me the code i need..

I wrote "Unavailable - hence the problem" in place of the promo code when mailing them about that. If I get a positive reply I'll post it here so people know what to do to get their DLC redeem code. I just hope I don't have any unauthorised problems even after having the DLC properly redeemed like people who bought it from steam seem to have.

it's not just Steam,

I got it on CD and it should be there... I had also downloaded the ones that can be downloaded directly from BSN and installed them via the 'select dazips' option with the DAUpdater... still unauthorized...

except Awakening... that's the only thing that works...

without Blood Dragon Armor and Stone Prisoner though I can't even access my other savegames anymore...

I tried the methods listed on the forum as far as I can, but no luck, so I'm really hoping there will be some patch or something... soon ^_~

I was getting unauthorised, but I managed to fix that by registering my Ultimate Edition copy and then entering the DLC promo code thing here: http://social.biowar...redeem_code.php

Fixed it for me o-o' And I could not find the redeem code thing anywhere for the life of me xD until well...I found it.

For those who downloaded the ultimate edition from EA store. I found out a way to get the dlc (at least for blood dragon armor) to work again. If you followed my first method to authorize your dlc, you might of noticed that some of them don't work. I had that problem too so I followed Fernando melo post and just downloaded this :
http://supportfiles....nostic_beta.exe (sorry I don't know how to make it a link)

This fixed it for me.

Again, hope this helps! :-)

Edit: I'm pretty sure this fixed it for all the DLC

Thanks, I'm sure that helps a lot of people who were using the xml edit fix. For those who bought it from the EA Store and want the DLC properly associated with their accounts though, there's nothing left to do at the moment other than wait for an answer to the mails we sent. Like I said a few posts ago in this thread, that "fix" isn't really a fix, it's the exact same method used to pirate the dlc.

I am having the same problem, I have all of the dlc showing against my profile, and it is showing on the dlc screen when I start the game, but as soon as I log into the bioware/ea servers or whatever, the dlc then shows as unauthorised, but it is showing under my profile.

Maybe it takes a while for the two to match up? but seems strange.

I think I am right in saying I can play without being logged in though?

I got the Steam edition, my DLC list is empty after reinstalling it, and when i try to connect to the Dragon Age servers it won't do it. It like flashes up for a second saying "connecting to Dragon Age Servers" then disappears, and nothing happens. I have tried this with the firewall exception, firewall off. I've done everything in the "unauthorized DLC troubleshooting" thread from manually removing my DLC, creating the DAUpdater service, everything. At a complete loss as to what to do now.

EDIT: After all of this, it turns out my EA password contained "special characters", which was preventing me from logging in, changed the password and now its working ok. Still, its ridiculous that a game can be released and not be able to be run without fiddling around with windows services and registry entries. That's not on, its a failure to provide a service and liable in court.

EA responded... but the solution was to uninstall/reinstall things and that obviously is not the solution

as the Bioware guys said in order to authorize the DLC we need to have the content visible in http://social.biowar...tlements.php... we weren't provided with a redeeming code (we only got a key to register the game, not the DLCs) so no DLC shows up in that page. Since we cannot redeem the DLC we cannot get authorized ingame

Exactly how did you explain your situation? They told me that due to the nature of my problem more time was required so I'm waiting some more, although I suspect it might have been an automated message sent because of the promise they make of an answer in less than 24 hours...

When exactly did you send your mail to them? Mine was sent approximately 24 hours ago, hence my suspicions.

i sent the mail yesterday and they answered this morning.

I said in the message what has been said in this forum that people who bought the game from the EA Store cannot get the DLC authorized because we didn't have any DLC redeeming code. Just some minutes ago i sent another message tp EA explaining the problem a bit more with words of how to solve it according to bioware... let's see if they accept it's their fault for not sending 2 codes instead of just one

1 code to register the game (we only got this one)

1 code to redeem the DLCs

hey there,

I have the same problem with DAO: UE. Purchased last saturday at the EA online-store. I also only received a registration code. What email address did you use to contact EA about this? I want to use the same to see if we get different results :)

This is also the method I used.

I just tried out the live chat support, too. I told him about how the problem seems to affect everyone who bought from the EA store and explained how I had already tried every solution he suggested. I explained that the problem was certainly in redeeming because unlike others who had received 2 codes we don't see anything redeemed in http://social.biowar...ntitlements.php

In the end I got him to check on their end the codes associated with my purchase and only the serial code was there, so I guess this isn't just a silly case of missing info on the e-mail. According to him the same serial used in the installation process was supposed to redeem the DLC.

After I told him that was not the case, that I even tried putting "-" between each chunk of 4 digits when redeeming", he told me he had to redirect the problem. So in the end all I got was the conversation we had redirected as a question through the http://support.ea.com/app/ask method.

So it's obviously a problem they didn't see coming and they have no idea how to solve it at the moment? Is that about right?

yep, it's probably this... I also bought the game through EAStore and have the same problem... I will wait 'till tomorrow to see if they come up with a fix, else I'll use the .xml hack fix until they give me a proper redeem code =/

The fact that this affects everyone who bought the game from their online store makes feel kind of confident that it will be solved. I'm guessing this thread is being lurked by a lot of people with the same problem. Every one of us should mail EA support with this so it gets noticed and fixed ASAP.

I am beyond upset about this. I even unregistered my original copy of DA:O(pc) thinking it was conflicting having the same game on my account twice. This apparently had the effect of also unregistering my copy on ME2(360), I am guessing due to cross promo content. I am afraid to logon to xbox live to find out if I messed up my characters for ME3.

We need a clear, concise fix to this, not random stabs in the dark from the Bioware support. Apparently they just threw all the software and codes in a box and did zero QA and testing.

Just sent an e-mail to the support through the http://support.ea.com/app/ask method.

I hope they fix this ASAP
