Nice Inkkubus. Thank you. That worked for me, too.

In addition, you should change the updater from "manually" to "automatic" activation (right click on "Dragon Age: Origins content update"). That way you don't have the repetition.

Uptdate: Lol. Automatic start doesn' t work after all. Have to activate manually before every session... ah well. At least no more cmding.

you could choose to start it delayed (right-click on the service > properties> delayed start). that way you don't have to start it again after everytime you rebooted.
It seems to be a windows security issue with services that start imminent after windows starts.

Inkkubus, you saved my day. I authorized everything besides Witchcraft but I see that's a common issue, I'll look for for a solution on the witchcraft thread.

hi everyone, i've been having the same problem as everyone seems to be having. but i'm not exactly a computergenius, so i messed up a bit i think. so here's what i did, i installed DAO:UE from steam, installed it andgame worked fine, of course the DLC was unauthorized. so i started searching the net and tried so many different things that in the end... the game just didnt wanna start anymore. so i go to steam or to DAO folder to launch the game and i just get to the screen where i get the option to play or configure or to uninstall, helpdesk etc... i select play and windows asks (windows 7 btw) if i wanna give authorization to launch the game, i select yes and i'm back at my previous screen. i click play... same happens. so it seems its stuck in a loop now and i still dont know if i got the dlc activated lol. anyways i uninstalled the game through steam, downloaded again and now when i try to launch it i get the same problem that i go in a loop.

so wondering if anyone has had this kinda problem and if anyone knows what i did wrong and how i can fix it. thanks :)

For Steam users, this simple fix I saw in the Steam forums (posted by Warlord STE) fixed my issue:

find your dragon age folder, you may have saved it else where but this is how I find mine.

C:\\\\Program Files \\\\ Steam \\\\ steamapps \\\\ common \\\\ dragon age ultimate edition

once your in there find the file that says REDIST should be near the bottom, once in there run the file that says DAOU_UpdateAddinsXML_Steam when that finishes run the other file called DAUServiceSetup_Steam, when both have finished start up your dragon age ultimate and hopefully everything should be working.

thank you so much!  this worked beautifully after many other failed attempts...  wish i'd seen this incredibly simple solution sooner

I managed to find out what my problem was. go for the forum entry (search for "unauthorized") or do the following:
open
execute (WINDOWS key+R) before starting the game. type in
"services.msc" then search for "Dragon Age: Origins content update"
(dont know if the processes name is correct because I use the german
version) and start that process manually. launch the game. Your content
now may hopefully be authorized. good luck!

Can one of you guys post a more, uh, simpler version for me? I tried running (my pc says daupdater.exe) before launching origins, but that didn't work for me. however, I could not find the service under "servives.msc" so that may be my problem.

Anyways, I would be grateful if anyone can help me resolve this problem.

This seems to have worked for a lot of people.  At the risk of sounding clueless, I can't find my Dragon Age folder, at least not the right one.  I can find one via the searchbar but nothing has a REDIST file.  What is it that you guys have used to find the right folder?

Jaysus. What a messed up problem. I had to restart that windows command manually and then the thing worked. Got everything unlocked, I just hope I don't have to do that every single time I want to play the game.

Please review the threads I reference in this post:
social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/58/index/5151520

If you are seeing the DLC unauthorized issue (and have redeemed your DLC code and can see the DLCs attached to your account here on the site), then it is almost certainly a DA updater service issue.

The links on the page above will walk you through why this may have failed to install or run in your case, and more importantly how to correct this.  There is also a beta tool linked in there that may help for those not wishing to try the manual fixes.

If you are missing DLC codes (mostly seems to have affected a batch of EA Store digital players), please contact EA support.  If they were not able to resolve this completely, e.g. you are still missing some DLCs after contacting them, then please ping me and we'll do our best to resolve this for you directly - be aware that with DA2 approaching responses may be a little slower than normal, all devs do this on personal time (and for the DA team that's on short supply so please be patient).

F.

Try and use "run" then type in "services.msc" then select the dragon age updater and run it. it should work, atleast it did for me. =)

I had this after installing the ultimate edition. I found my solution here: http://forums.steamp...d.php?t=1681276

Followed it to a "t" and it worked like a charm.

Note: Make sure you do #4 unless you like redoing this process. :)

After completely installing the game and registering your game at the BioWare Social website, do the following:

**Completely exit Dragon Age Origins if you have it running**

1) Navigate to your DA:O Ultimate Edition Steam folder, in Windows 7 64-bit it is the following "C:\\\\Program Files (x86)\\\\Steam\\\\steamapps\\\\common\\\\dragon age ultimate edition\\\\redist". For all other versions of Windows, it will be something similar.

2) Run DAOU_UpdateAddinsXML_Steam.exe. After it completes, go to step 3.

3) Run DAUServiceSetup_Steam.exe. With the window still open, open a command prompt window by pressing Windows Key + R and type "services.msc" (without the quotes).

4) Scroll down and find "Dragon Age: Origins - Content Updater". Right click it and go to Properties. Set the Startup Type to Automatic, and click the "Start" button under Service status.

5) Click Apply, then OK. You can now close the Services window and the DAUServiceSetup_Steam.exe window.

6) Open the game and login to your account at the bottom left. Your DLC should now be authorized to your account.

It seems that Fernando Melo haven't been online for around 4 days so there is still hope. EA support haven't replied to my email that i sent 5 days ago when they state they will reply within 24 hours and EA live support proved to be useless.

P.S. You can use this workaround to enable all the DLC's you have but my saved game got corrupted for some reason so use it at your own risk.

Hey for the guys that downloaded from EA store. I think I found how to fix the "unauthorized" problem.

(Windows 7)
1.
Find your addins.xml file. Mine was located at [ C:\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ Users \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
(your name or user) \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ MyDocuments\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ Bioware \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ Dragon Age \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
Settings ]

2. Use "Word pad" to open the the xml file

3. Then change every RequiredAuthorization = "1" to RequiredAuthorization = "0"
(I used ctrl-f to search for every RequiredAuthorization)

Hope this helps!! :-)

This worked for me, I have the box for Ultimate Edition, that comes with the code for all DLCs, and when you install it, it shows all packages already.
Thanks Dude.

This also worked for me, finally the content is there in game and authorised. Afraid to try patching it now though just in case I have to re-install the damn thing.

Ok, so I tried this and at first it looked like it worked. Everything showed up the way it was supposed to when I loaded the game. When I tried to load one of the "Additional Content" modules it didn't work though. Bah, this game is such a pain in the ass. I remember having all kinds of problems when they first released it too. Why the hell can't EA just get this fixed? I've given them my money, I want my goods!

On the downloadable content menu, under "installed conten" are they listed and checked?  Which ones are missing?  Stone Prisoner, Soldier's Peak, and Return to Ostagar don't appear under "Other Campaigns"... they're accessed as quests in the main Origins game.

BTW... once you get them activated, you can log out and turn off the auto-login function. You don't need to reactivate every time you play. Only downside... your profile will not update online... but I for one couldn't give a care.... :)

There is everything listed and checked/activated, maybe i'm confused because some of the dlc's dont show up, they are available ingame as quests (like you said). Funny thing is that " Soldier's Peak" isnt show anywhere:mellow:. Is it because its already in the game and not classified as DLC (i'm starting to getting confused, really)

Yup. That's correct. The other ones won't be available until after you complete the Origin mission. Check the Journal under the "Premium Content" heading.
