Heh, Valenna is that kind of Dalish that even let my Mahariel facepalming a lot. And Lenya was/is by far not the most innocent Dalish in the human-hating department. Lol

Oh HOW I would have LOVED to rub the fact of Lenya's human boyfriend in her face when she had another of her multifaceted "RAAAAWR HUMAAAANS" rage-fits. *snickers*

I would have payed good money to see a romance between my Human Noble, and her because it probably would have been the kind that was filled with explosions, yelling contests, and hate sex. Probably with some cuddling...don't know why but she looks like a cuddler.

I think Velanna can be like this, or perhaps there would be a way to melt her heart, remove the anger and hate and just make her a nice person. Of course, this would rob her of her character, which wouldn't be a good thing. Without her passion, Velanna would probably be terribly bland. Still, a little tempering would be nice. Maybe an extra cuddle every day lol.

After my latest run of Awakening I admit that I have warmed up to Velanna quite a bit. It helped that the character I was playing had a lot in common with her (had romances been available and Velanna was bi, she would've gone for it).



Also, Velanna's epilogue slide when her approval is high enough is quite positive in the sense that she finally comes to terms that not all humans are scum, even helping a human village by herself. That's gotta be worth some praise.



Her snappy reactions can be quite funny as well. After giving her the blank journal...



"Fill it with what? Recipes for roast boar and pudding?"



And some Velanna... well, modded Velanna. I had to change her face if I was going to imagine that my character would've gone for her had she been available.

Lol, I actually have a very "saucy" photo of her, but I can't post it here as it would be nudity. I think the next time I get to Awakening, I will recruit her first, so that I get to spend more time listening to her harp on and actually getting to "know" her. In my last run, I sort of force rushed the friendship.



It's a pity that there isn't truly a happy ending for her. I like to disregard the ending slide and I believe that after my mage helped her to crack and grieve, she became happy to stay at Vigil's Keep and did good deeds. She still keeps the snappy part of her attitude though, to which new recruits often ended up getting exposed to and regretting it. Lastly, she tried to have a relationship with Nathaniel, but it failed after a while. After that she finally realised she belonged with my Warden and Leli, the fact that they are humans be damned.

i think velanna likes humans more then she thinks, elves are the one that exiled her.

ROFL! Well, yeah, her attire has also changed. It was a theme I had running between her and my mage. They are both people who want to be connected to nature and thus clothing felt like more of a hassle.

Normally I don't use robes like that, but it actually felt right on that playthrough.

I really do wonder if Velanna would romance a human. We know she allows Nate to flirt with her and she sort of likes it. Would she be willing to take it further? It would certainly be a problem for her if she intends to preserve the Dalish legacy.

On the playthrough I mentioned, I like to imagine that my mage first had a fling with both Anders and Nate (she's a girl with too much love to give!), before figuring out that she and Velanna had much more in common.

Whether Velanna would actually go for a human is up for debate.

I take advantage of the fact that once you get her approval high enough it says "Love" instead Friendship, so I'm thinking she is crushing on the Warden-Commander, and I highly dig that.

Really? Must be a very recent patch cause last two Awakening games I had (as in last week for one), only Nate and Ohgren didn't 'Love' my Warden.

I had always gotten the "love" bug with both Anders and Velanna, and I didn't get them on my last run (which I finished two days ago), with the latest patch (1.04).



But I had heard some people reporting that they were still getting the "love" bug so I guess it was only sort of fixed. Maybe some dialog choices still trigger the "love" flag or something to that avail.

Huh, I did choose that line with my Orlesian girl and still didn't get Anders to "love" me on that playthrough.

Typical Awakening. Even the bugs are bugged.

Odd. I can almost always get Sigrun, Velanna, Anders and Justice in 'love' with my Commander with barely any effort. I don't really make different dialogue choices much though. Oghren is the worst for me to get approval up on. Need a infinite gift mod in order to get the completion for his 'quest'.

It's a good point, if she would go for a human, even with a changed attitude after the game ends. The Dalish legacy is pretty busted though, as the odds of her having children are very low as per all Wardens. The sad thing is that if she ever did, the kids would be allowed to come back to the clan I think, but their mother is forever banished. When she dropped the line about how the journal would contain stories for her children and grandchildren, my heart wept for her a bit. For all we know, no one has had a chance to tell her about the seriously reduced fertility for Wardens. I think it was probably an oversight by the writers, in the rush to get Awakening done.

That or the Commander mentally winced and decided he/she liked having the Keep in one piece too much to tell the Dalish mage previously proven to be prone to extreme reactions.

Has anyone ever figured out how to trigger Velanna's Exile? It's a very buggy random encounter that I have rarely been ever able to have happen.
