I think the OP's illustrated the answer to his own question. Bio's got to make characters that will show interest in a PC no matter who's playing him, even if he's got "prejudiced, sexist, one-sided" views. I guess that means skanks.

If it's consistent with the rest of their character, I'm all for it.  It would be odd if Liara wasn't kind of hesitant, odd if Ashley totally abandoned protocol, just as it would be odd if Morrigan had a puritanical attitude towards sex or if Leliana was willing to do anything to complete her assignments except sleep with people.  

And Isabela, a hedonistic pirate? You don't say!

It's all about posession, IMO. People like to feel that they're super special, and having someone fawn over them sexually does that. When people don't make a big deal about sex, and don't make having sex with them special, that can make people jealous and resentful in a hurry.

I never romanced Miranda so I only have other people's opinions on that romance so I said your mileage may vary as there are drastically differing opinions.  Jack on the other hand is most definitely not a skank.  She fears sex for crying out loud.  If you have sex with her, she hates you for the rest of the game and treats you like a rapist.  It is pretty clear cut that she is not a skank.

What are you talking abou? Jack doesn't fear sex. She hates you because she thinks you're just like everyone else. (She certainly doesn't treat you like a rapist.My Shep gets treated the exact same way for simply disagreeing with her.) She fears intimacy. She's pretty liberal with sex. Sort of like zevran in a way. Sleeping with her doesn't stop her from later calling you commander or being willing to die in the suicide mission or fighting by your side. Or even being loyal to your cause! She just sees that Shep got what he wanted and she no longer wants to deal with him. Except with Jack it ends up being nasty and rude. (Granted Shep can be a right douche right on back. One of these days I'll start her romance so I can those scenes). So no. It wasn't rape. More like Jack deciding Shep was like everyone else.
