Alright, so I've found out how to keep your DLCs and play them legit will resetting your achievements.

Some credit goes to Mr_Zombie at this post: http://social.biowar...51580/1#4821373 for hinting the Toolset.

If you are going to add this to wiki or any other source, I just ask for credit to me and the above person. Thanks.

Also try at your own risk, don't blame me if anything goes wrong. Doesn't really matter.. you can just download a new one from Bioware (Log In).

Normally you have to log into your account and that authorizes your DLCs and pulls down your achievements. These get stored into Profile.dap in your documents folder (Bioware/Dragon Age/Settings/).

If you try to edit the Addins.xml and change the (RequireAuthorization="1" to "0"), it will say in DA that it's authorized but when you try to load that module,it will fail. Meaning that there is multiple checks to stop piracy (or so they try to.. but DRM sucks and only screws us the consumers).

Basically what you have to know is that Profile.dap is not only for achievements, but it also keeps track that you indeed did log into the Bioware server and confirmed your identity as the legal owner of that content. Meaning that once you log into your Bioware account and downloading your Profile.dap info, you will be able to play your DLCwhether you log into the Bioware server or not.

Now sure, we can sync our Profile.dap and validate our DLCs, but how does that reset our achievements?

Unfortunately, it isn't easier and we will need to use an application to edit the Profile.dap and do two things:

1. Preserve our authorization with our DLCs
2. Delete all of our achievement data.

I think that if you buy another DLCs and need authorization, you might need to back up your Profile.dap, log in again and validate all over again, and then redit that new Profile.dap to delete all of the achievements that you didn't earn, and keep the achievements that you did earn. Theoretically, this should give you access to the new DLC that you wanted to authorize.

You can download the Dragon Age Toolkit directly from Bioware at the following address:http://social.bioware.com/page/da-toolset#downloads

After you install the toolset (and hopefully your SQL server is working.. mine didn't want to work so I had to do the manual install method), open the toolset up and open the Profile.dap file.

Then navigate to:

Top Level Struct -> SAVEPROFILE_PROFILELIST, and double click the SAVEPROFILE_LOCAL_ACHIEVEMENT_DATA from struct 0 where the "type" is "Binary". When the GFF Field Type window pops up, check "Has no value (only applies to list and references). If there are any other lists besides struct 0, delete them.

Doing this will reset your achievement count back to 0.

Also delete SAVEPROFILE_ACHIEVEMENTLIST entirely. This will make all the achievement images go back to "Secret" and show a question mark. Basically they won't be revealed until you unlock them. (I haven't found any side effects with deleting this so it seems fine).

One you delete this, you will be completely reset (achievement wise) and you will still be able to use your DLCs, and that's it. Enjoy playing Dragon Age with reset achievements and your DLCs :D.

NOTE: Some of the achievement still show but they aren't lighted and most of them say secret. I think these are achievements that BioWare wanted us to unlock by guiding us there? If you do know what the status of all the achievements are by default (if every single one without exception have a "Secret" question mark), please post. There might be a way to hide them as well.

Wow. Very nice. Does this also reset class specializations?

If it did you could always unlock them via toolset or mod

Noob here. Why would you want to reset your achievements?

Reasons may vary, but my personal motives are to just try and achieve them again.

I find it quite cool that you are so into the game that you want to do this. I hope I can be so enamored in time. I have never loved a game so much that I wanted to unlock all of the achievements again.

It's probably the sense that each set of achievements should go with a single character... that was my first thought on this and would be my main motive in resetting.

It seems if you are logged into the EA server via DA:O that the reset doesn't hold when you reload an existing game. I guess this only clears the achievements locally, and not on BioWare's servers

My only reasoning for doing this is the following - When DA:O came out, I played the game with a friend's illegitimate copy. I loved the game so decided to buy it for myself, but I kept all the characters I had when I played the game on the other copy. Therefore, when I had to create a Bioware account, the achievement system skipped over Tier 1 achievements (i.e. Disable a trap which later goes into Disarm 25 traps and so on) since my character had already disabled well over 1 trap. So in my bioware account (look at it yourself) you'll see the Disabled 25 traps achievement highlighted, but the Disable 1 trap achievement still grayed out! It's bogus, really but I was really hoping this would work, I'm going to work on this right now and see what happens.

they should just come out with an official way to reset all achievements if we want without having to resort to hacking our local game files...
