Companions wore that they wanted and, through their outfits, we learnt more about them.

And what pray tell did we learn from Garrus' busted up armor? , What did we learn from Samara's outfit?

The character's personalities taught us about them. Not the clothes they had on.

That he was shot once.

We totally didn't learn that from seeing him shot :pinched:

...And why is his loyalty armor busted up? He just painted over it or something?

And in that matter...where did he get the paint?

He made it. *intense Bruce Lee squint* You should stop asking questions now.

Having unique starter outfits is fine to me, but I feel a great lose and sense of free agency when I am unable to change/armor/cover up characters. Especially if I feel their character development while traveling with my PC is leading them to become different people (and thus reflect it in their wardrobe, like I made Leliana a warrior-rogue rather than bard or archer-rogue due to my PC's relationship developments with her and resolution of her questline). I do not want to be forced to look at something I may not desire to see (ridiculous cleavage/scanty attire), and I do not see the issue with various options of armor/clothing/attire. It only enriches a unique playthrough, IMO.

Seeing Isabela's very unique outfit made me wonder this. I hated some of the outfits my companions sported in ME2, mostly because they were going into combat against heavily armed enemies wearing clothes from a S&M fashion catalog. Seeing Isabela dressed so scantily is making me nervous about this. So devs, is this something you can answer now?

The fact that the dev's seem to  be dodging this question in this thread and in at least two others that they're active in, is what is making me nervous about it.

I'd like to think Isabela's outfit is like Morrigan's, a starting outfit that can be changed, but the silence from the dev's is making think it might be more like the unchangable armor that your squad wore in ME2.

Which, in my opinion, would be very, very bad.

Is there really no hint or remote confirmation either way anywhere? I'd like to know what the general consesis is here. with all the speculation we still dont know how the armor will be done?

All we've been told is "Yes, there is inventory", which is what they said about ME2, and while technically yes there was inventory in ME2, it was pretty damn minimalist, and a lot of people didn't like it, hence the worrying here.

Right on!

I'd love it if every companions maybe had one starting unique look like Morrigan's robes, but if it goes the ME2 route and thats all you have? Meh.

But like you said, its a matter of choice again and being able to swap armor on a character is a nice role playing aspect too. I mean, if I make Morrigan an Arcane Warrior, you better believe I'm putting her in some heavy armor. Its just having that choice thats nice, especially in an RPG.

Honestly, I would've rather forced Morrigan's robe on Morrigan at all times. Her breasts changing size and her gaining underwear was rather... odd. Thank god for the Robes of Posession.

At least if they were going the more fixed, ME2 route, I would hope they give you more than just the one outfit, or having the "alternate" be simply a recolor of the original like in ME2. Like with Morrigan as an example, have her 2nd unique look be her Sacres Ashes robes or something.

But as far as Morrigan's magic underwear- yeah, that was weird, but I think you'll have that with everyone anyway, unless they create unique body models for each character in their underwear too.

considering that some in DA:O had a "unique starter" look .. oki Morgian couldn't be used on someone else .. but otherwise they still had Lilianna had her Chantry robes (I know not specically bound to her) that fitted 'kind of' with her background, etc. I personally wouldn't yet worry about that ...

I like that they have unique clothing. I'd prefer it to remain that way, maybe with upgrades.

The best answer we've gotten as to whether or not the inventory system is the same as Origins was basically "Sure, I guess."

Well I guess i'm going to just have to act in typical forum fashon and assume the absolute worst and complain about it until I hear otherwise.

***they have Dragon Effect - ed the inventory system. Its still there so Bioware can say its there and not be lying but its not acualy useful or needed.***

look, I like unique armor because its unique and cool looking. but if each character gets only one outfit then it stops being an RPG.

At least we can change Bethany's cloths, we could see in the trailer, she was using a robe in some parts and a normal cloths in another.
I don't think they will remove the ability to change the companions equipments, it would be awkward to see someone using the same cloths for 10 years.

I'm just asking myself why are they avoiding to answer this question...

Because they'd rather talk about equipment at a later date or they just like torturing you. Pick one.

Well, I'm not asking for full details about equipments, just if it's possible to equip them on companions.

Which amount to. .  .well, nothing cause they're cryptic.
