Also, a hard cover graphic novel would be a welcome addition too. Easily enough done since there are a number of Mass Effect comics out there.

But for real I would love for an N7 helmet that you can actually wear and a model of the SR-2.

For Lolz I would love to see something Blasto related, such as a skin for Shepard or an ingame movie.

A wearable helmet might be a stretch but BioWare and EA could ship the collector's edition in an N7 helmet-style case.

The model of the Normandy sounds awesome along with the sniper rifle. My wish list:

In game content:
Gillian Grayson as an extra squad member and Reaper-inspired armor, similar to the collector armor.
Also, I know this has nothing to do with the Collectors' Edition, but I think they should bring the Blood Dragon Armor over if you had it in DA2 or ME2.

I agree on the Blood Dragon armor but I'll add that I also want to see the Collector Chitin armor as well.

A voucher for a custom replica of the players Commander Shepard.
It would have a set body for male and female figures (or a custom base color?), and a custom head ACCURATELY capturing Shepard's likeness.
I would easily shell out $150 for just this and the game.
Or a Mass Relay statue would be just as awesome :3
no matter what, Im still buying what ever Bioware does......

A model of the ship might be nice, but what are going to do with that? Put it on your desk and look at it.
I'd rather have something i can interact with further than just turning a page or blowing dust off of it every few weeks.
How about a remote controlled Mako car/tank, with a Commander Shepard action figure to fit inside of it? You know, something i can play with or actually use.
or maybe a pair of tickets to the movie premier or the oportunity to appear as an extra in the movie!....maybe im going too far, but that would be FREKING AWESOME!

How about a Special Edition with like 300 hours of dlc, TWO making of mass effect DVDS, gamer pictures, action figures of all the crew including a custom Shepard that can fit in a RC mako, which fits in a die-cast scale replica of the Normandy, which fits in a collectors tin. INSIDE OF A WEARABLE N7 HELMET!!!! and of course a life size M-98 Widow anti material rifle (live ammo of course). best of all, this would only be the pre-order bonus......

Just wondering: people have mixed feelings about physical memorabilia vs dlc. would people rather have cool new statues and books or free early or exclusive in-game content? I'm sure Bioware will have an awesome combination of the two, but which choice sounds more appealing? (Besides the obvious M-98 Widow Anti-Material Rifle dlc for real life).
I'd rather have both in this case. Since it's been stated that BioWare wants to do something special for mass Effect 3 I thnik we can expect a healthy dose of DLC, making-of content, and die-cast replicas.

Then Crysis 2 did use a replica of Alcatraz's nano suit in backpack form for it's Nano Edition. And now this Shepard backpack which was produced and was shown off at one point and was supposed to be released for sale many months ago has gone completely dark and swept away. Considering both Crysis 2 and Dead Space 2 were also EA published games, I just wonder if that backpack has been swept away to be used for this Uber edition of ME 3.
On the argument of Physical or Digital bonuses, if I have to choose one over the other, I'd pick Physical, because regardless of how something is marketed for preorder, there is almost no such thing as truly "exclusive" or "limited" digital content. Almost every single digital piece of content that is made available as a CE or preorder bonus is eventually made available to everyone. While on the other hand, almost all physical content made available in CE's is exclusive in some way to that edition of the game.
To me, the "let everyone have it eventually" model of digital contents being used by the industry now completely defeats the purpose of a Collector's Edition of a game. So I would prefer physical stuff that can't be gotten other places.

I hope I'm wrong, and by all means, consider this a wild eyed theory if you will, but I'm beginning to wonder if this "something special" involves that Commander Shepard backpack that was designed and then promptly swept under the rug. Dead Space had one designed to look like Isaac Clarke's armor/life bar, there were rumors they were going to use it in an uber edition of DS 2 that ended up being scrapped for the less expensive CE they released. So the backpack just got sold.

Interesting points. I don't think BioWare will go the backpack route for ME3's collector edition. Maybe packaging similar to The Witcher 2 CE or WoW CE or the collector edition of Starcraft 2.
I'm also beginning to think we won't see full-scale models of the Normandy or any weapons; instead they'll most likely wind up being small die-cast replicas. And if Dragon Age II is any indication there will almost certainly be DLC included with Mass Effect 3's collector edition but whether it's exclusive to that edition or made available afterward is anyone's guess.

-Reaper and Normandy ship models
-OST
-Systems Alliance beret
-Art book
-In-game items
For a Steam collector edition, i think these items would be reasonable:
-Downloadable soundtrack and artbook
-In-game items
-Mass Effect items for Team Fortress 2
