The Collector's Edition should come with the first two games since BioWare was generous enough to give out ME2 with DA2 already for free and ME1 being a cheap downloadable title now. It'll probably come with some of those action figures I've been seeing on the internet for some time now...

See, this is what I'm saying.  Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 should be included with the collector edition of ME3 but where would that leave PS3 owners? At present I don't think Mass Effect can be ported to the Playstation 3 since it was published by Microsoft and they still retain the rights presumably.  If that's the case would it mean that PC and Xbox 360 players only would get the first game in their collector editions but not PS3 gamers?

That could be a problem.

no armour DLC ... as long as it isn't as modular as the N7 armour in ME2.

I wouldn't mind paying extra at release for "get all DLC as it is released." I hate dealing with DLC... but signs of the times I guess.

The most important thing I would like to see in collector's edition is the soundtrack. Preferably the soundtracks for all three games. Hint: I would buy such an item if it were ever released.

Also a cloth map. :P

Already have my $200 set aside for this... I have posted this in other topics, but my suggestions again

Quality case- the ME2 CE case was excellent. Halo 3... not so much... same price, far different quality
I would love some kind of replica... assault rifle, SR2, Reaper, but not Shepard himself... then you will get into all the issues with FemShep/MyShep... just more difficult
Artbooks are always excellent but I would prefer a litho... however, i understand that that would likely be more trouble than its worth, size restrictions and all...
The controller is cool, but many of us don't need another controller... on the otehr hand, i know which controller i would always use in the future...
Other than that, i think DLC is a little premature, since we know so little about the game mechanics. Exclusive squaddies seems out of reach, as its not economically releasable to hire a VA and animate a single person that few people will ever get...
Thanks for reading all our comments... we of the bioware community really appreciate it!

I don't think the collector's edition of ME3 will cost $200 but then again you never know.

I'd like in my Mass Effect 3 Collectors Edition to have keys to a brand new Mako and a small Asari or Elcor in a Hawaiian outfit that bobs up and down.

I just hope and wish they make us happy, I know I be sure will be getting Mass Effect 3 special edition, the last two I got on day one and the CE's but not of Mass Effect 1. I am sure there will be new armor, gears, equipment, weapons, ships, vehicles and characters. I am sure of it, if The Normandy is back, it might be a different type model. I hope, kinda bored with SR2. I am sure it will be great their type of edition and will make us happy. I am and were kinda disappointed with Mass Effect 2 Collectors Edition.

I'd appreciate it if Bioware actually scaled back the bonus items. The list of DA2 bonus junk was mind-boggling.

In all honesty, I don't care what special stuff comes with the game as long as I get Liara back.

My only comment on that, is that the DLC gear for Mass Effect 2 was pretty important as there weren't that many equipment options to begin with, where as the DLC "junk" for DA2 was just that in a highly loot based game, junk.

As long as they don't take the Tiger Woods DLC Route...
From what I hear the latest TW has more courses as day1 DLC than there are on the disc (Downloading them all seperately would cost 90$!!) and some of them are needed for tournaments on the disc.

So yeah, I'd like it if we could stick to physical stuff this time instead of ingame content. If it is something cool like the Nightvision thingies packaged with Modern Warfare once I'd be willing to pay a rather high price for it too. =) (rather high = somewhere around 150€ for me. IF the stuff packaged with the game is cool!)

I'd love it if the Collector's Edition came with an in-universe personal journal, written by one of the more important characters with an advantageous perspective, such as Liara, maybe TIM or Kahlee Sanders. A good example of how this would be the journal 'written by Dr. Halsey' that came with the special editions of Halo Reach:

Image IPB

Image IPB

I think the community would really appreciate to experience how one such character lived his/her early life, experienced Human First Contact (and to what extent) and how Shepard impacted his/her live. Notes on pretty important things, such as alien biology and biotics and such would also be nice.

Of the three characters I mentioned above, each could provide unique insight in things previously relatively unknown or unexplained: Liara's journal would shed some light on the Protheans as well as show some interesting things she learned as the Shadow Broker. TIM's would accurately describe First Contact from a first-hand perspective and show us what Cerberus has done over the years, while also showing what it's like at the top. Kahlee's journal, on the other hand, would cover some stuff that was in the books but never really got much explanation, such as her early research on the artifact that turned out to be Sovereign (Revelation), much on human biotics and Gillian Greyson (Ascension) and whatever was discovered from the "Reaper-tech" they got at the end of Retribution.

Just some simple brainstorm session on my part, as I pretty sure this is something many of us would like, Which character is most suited to 'write' such a journal, however, is hard to determine.

Well most DLC are some time after the game is released...i.e. to justify it's not part of the original design therefore we can sell it for additional $

It wouldn't surprise me if the "awesome collectible item" is something like a reaper or relay model... also if this is more than $70 I for one will not be getting it.

I really like the idea of some kind of model like that... I want something palpable in the collector's edition. The ME1 and 2 editions were great, but lacking that special trinkety type of something. Maybe an omni-tool type of case? Maybe different statues of certain characters depending on the retailer? What about a wearable replica of Garrus's scouter :P  could be cool.

I need something to put between my overpriced Halo Helmet and statue.

Copy the Halo's (in everything except quantity produced). Reach had a really nice Collector's and Legendary edition. Just make sure that they are actually limited as much as the ME editions have been in the past.

I love physical editions of the game, but I won't get it.I am a person that tends to lose, scratch, destroy, utterly ruin a game disc and all the goodies that come with CE.But a nice CE would be more then welcome for people that aren't me.

Things I would like to have in a Special Collector's Edition of ME3 (not necessarily all of them, but won't complain):

- The Full Game (Obviously), in a nice case like the ME2 CE.
- Some Limited Edition DLC - Unique Weapons, Weapon Mods, Modular! Armour (like the Kestrel set). Obviously any day-1 DLC like Cerberus Network.
- Art Book - preferably lengthy, maybe with concept art from all 3 games.
- Complete! OST - on actual CDs, not just digital.
- A resin statuette of Harbinger. I really like Harbinger's design after seeing it properly in Arrival.
- A special signed limited edition Mini-Litho of a key character. If you have one of Shepard have the default male and female Shepards on it, maybe back to back.
- A Bonus DVD with commentary and 'making-of' features, interviews with VA, recording bloopers, etcetera.

I hope they give us something good and interesting, something that will make us all happy not just part of the community. I were disappointed with ME:2 Collectors Edition, they soon released the DLC items later on. I didn't like that much honestly, it were suppose to be for Collectors Edition only. I hope they don't do that with Mass Effect 3 Collectors Edition. I hope they make us happy. :)

What I would want:

1. A full Mass Effect art book containing concept art from all previous games.

2. Some in game extras, i.e weapons, armor, behind the scenes and so on...

3. A small model of the Normandy or a Reaper.

4. Awesome casing.

5. I think the game alone will be worth 80 bucks, so shove that in there...

6. A second disc containing behind the scenes.

7. One DLC code that will unlock a free download for the game's first paid DLC when it comes out.

Bundle all this together for collectors edition and minus the Reaper/Normandy and the DLC code (and possibly an extra) for the Limited Edition. The CE could cost about $100, maybe $120 whilst the LE should cost (like previously said) $80. Agreed?

In addition to all the nice apparel like artbook, a model, great casing etc that has been suggested I just like to throw in the notion that I really approve of WELL MADE "Making of" movies. Not the advertising stuff that can be found all over the internet but a nice thorough look at the making of the game with loads of behind the scenes awesome. I like it.

Anyway, bring it on and take my money!

I'm thinking $150 max for the collector edition.
