Way back on the first page I saw somebody say that the CE of ME2 was called the Collectors Edition because you were fighting the Collectors, and that as such the ME3 edition would be the Reaper Edition....

It was called the Collector's Edition because that is a near universal term for an upgraded version of something. The fact that the main enemy in the game happened to be called the Collectors was pure coincidence. Sorry, had to get that off my chest.

On topic, I've always thought naming it the N7 Edition would be cool, but the classic Limited Edition or Collectors Edition would be fine. Crossing fingers for a die-cast model of the Normandy (SR2 preferrably), bonus disc with REAL making-of stuff, soundtrack is a must if Clint Mansell is doing the score, and a slick steel case would be nice. Also, for the love of god please include a voucher for all retailer exclusive items they may or may not offer, similar to what inFamous 2's Hero Edition offers.

Actually it was the " Collectors' Edition" , see the apostrophe letter S there? They're talking about the species, which adds to the pun.

But really the name has to add to the game somewhat, especially if they're going to release an uber-Collectors Editiion, that's why I went for "Terran Savior", because really you're there to take back the Earth.

A regular Collector's Editon can suffice for someone who doesn't wanna pay the big bucks for a whole bunch of stuff, but yet still wants a special version of their game.

That's why I think there'll be three versions (Reg, Collector's, Uber-Collector's) of this game at launch, like there was for Halo 3, Halo: Reach, Modern Warfare 3, etc.

I apologize, recently looked at the OFFICIAL product listing of ME2, and it is indeed a possessive of the term Collector, referring to the race. I always thought it was the opposite since most web listings used as " 's " and not " s' ".

I do think Bioware will adopt the 3 tier structure for the retail release of ME3. Have the standard game disc only, the limited edition with extra stuff and maybe a nice case, and the super (but obviously N7 lol) edition with (hopefully) the diecast Normandy, soundtrack, metal case, and making of stuff.

It was called the Collector's Edition because that is a near universal term for an upgraded version of something.

Except that Bioware has a habbit of calling these things Signature Editions, not Collectors Editions.

BioWare may call the special edition of mass Effect 3 the Platinum Edition (it connotes something of value physically speaking). They've already used Signature for Dragon Age 2 so I don't think they'll want to cause any confusion there. Of course there always the possibility of it begin called the Citadel Edition or the Alliance Edition (just a thought).

Finale Edition would actually make most sense.

Here's a thougt for the collector's or uber edition of ME3: game on Blu-ray for the PC. It could work something like this:
Platinum Edition-includes everything from the Collector's Edition but the game installs from a Blu-ray disc instead of DVD. Those of us that have Blu-ray drives in our computers could finally put them to good use.
Collector's Edition-includes whatever tchotchkes BioWare is planning but the game is included on DVD.
Standard Edition-includes the game and maybe an extra or two (like a code to unlock bonuses similar to the Cerberus Network card included with Mass Effect 2).

The Platinum Edition could even be a limited item (maybe 15,000 total) to increase its value.

1. An 8gb+ USB card in the shape of something ME related
2. A cloth wallscroll of the ME3 galaxy or maybe the teammates of ME3
3. A fullsize Tali statue... ;)

I do want a figure or model.
I'd love one of the Normandy SR2. That would be rad.

I would also like the ability to order your custom Shepard figure like the FigurePrints made from a player's personal WoW character. It would be cool if you could have your LI on it as well. My Shep and Garrus would look super awesome with our sniper rifles. But this is something I wish to order separately since they can't do such custom work with a game release.

OK, there seems to be some confusion about Man-Giraffe-Dog on the forums, notably that it just looks like a Giraffe-Dog. Well... that's the POINT. Why do you think I'm the only one warning you. It's disguised as a Giraffe-Dog until it's ready to take over the world.
OK this is how Man-Giraffe-Dog came to be:
Image IPB

While growing up it was spotted in the wild (but the team was all killed by it and the photos were recovered afterwards)
Image IPB

After which it began its infiltration of humanity, disguised as Giraffe-Dog:
Image IPB

Which leaves us here. Man-Giraffe-Dog is poised to attack and destroy humanity and I'm trying to warn everyone before it's too late. This is totally serial guys. You need to prepare.

Excelsior!

In the PS3 collectors edition they should include ME1, I know Microsoft own ME1 but shurley bioware could talk them into earning a few more credits by putting it in the ME3 collectors edition.

How about a plushy of Urz and an exclusive DLC code to have a quest in which Shepard adopts Urz from Tuchanka. Also Dog Tags of Shepard could be around the plush's neck. :3

A Codex
The OST for all three games
The First Second and third game
digital copies of books
DLC from all Retail stores
and maybe some exclusive dlc that others can't get for months unless they get the big edition
also a way to edit choices for the console versions so that you can play the story you want when you want it so you can see all possiible ways the game plays out even if you don't have the other games

Definitely a HUGE hard cover codex. another thought, kind of far fetched, is an electronic device specifically made to hold tons of codex info, and could link to mass effect 3, some how, and contain your Shepard's appearance, choices and face code, and of corse all the codex information from all the mass effects. or it could be a flash drive holding this information shaped like Shepard's dog tags.

also here is another idea of what the collectors edition could contain
-Box Shaped like Commander Shepard's N7 Helmet
-Metal Case for the game with a special reaper design on one side and the citadel on the other
-DVD of the making of the Mass effect trilogy
-Special codes for exclusive armor, wepon and Urz as a companion
-Gamerpics and a theme for Xbox, Wallpapers and bioware points for PC, IDK for ps3 (maybe a background)
-Commander Shepard Dog Tags
-Numbered Certificate of authenticity
-Art book with litheographs
-sound track from all mass effects
-A dicast normandy model with desplay
-Urz plushy
-Custom Shepard statue (send face code to bioware to get your figure)
-price of 80-150 Us dollars

Of course this is over the top and not happening, but why cant i dream

I'm sure BioWare is going to go big with the collector's edition of Mass Effect 3.  It wouldn't be a surprise if it cost $150 dollars US either.  I like the idea of a certificate of authenticity; it makes it seem like a true collector's item.  And I'd say a steel case is a must as well.

I'd still like to see an option that includes the game on Blu-ray for the PC so those of us with Blu-ray drives can get a little something special.  It's a longshot but here's to hoping Image IPB

Two feet in length?  That would make it too big for most packages.  Cool list nonetheless.
