If they included a Shep figure, they'd either have to make it as androgynous as possible and make the helmet non-removable or bring out a male and female edition of the collectors ed. Like...we could choose which one we wanted when we preorder etc... then if the cut off date is early like the DA2:SE was, they'd have time to put the orders together.
Much as it would irk the hell out of me, I wouldn't be surprised if it were a male Shepard and just a male Shepard.
I wouldn't be suprised if they don't even make a shepard figure. what ever though, we can only hope for our kick*** galactic hero.
BioWare could include a small pewter figurine of Shepard with the collector's edition. As to the issue of Sheploo over FemShep I think the option for FemShep is included in the game for variety. Sheploo is the 'official' Shepard of the franchise.

I was under the impression the Super Collector's edition would be a limited thing, only because all of the other instances of these sorts of editions (Of which I'm honestly thinking mainly of Uncharted) were limited-quantity. Or at least I seem to remember them being such. I may be wrong. I was also, because of that, working under the assumption that they would only be sold through Bioware--That way packaging would be a non-issue aside from shipping cost. But again, that's just my assumption, if someone things I'm wrong and has any evidence, please do link it. I'm not claiming to be an expert by any means.

No worries friend. This thread is just speculation on what we'd like to see whatever collector edition BioWare has planned for Mass Effect 3. I think it would be available through various e-tail and retail channels (Best Buy, Target, Walmart, Amazon, Newegg, etc) including EA's online store. As to whether it will be a true limited quantity item...that remains to be seen.

This would be awesome. To make it beyond awesome, though, it would need a replica X6E Carnifex Hand Cannon...

-Game disc(s) + Bonus: Making of Mass Effect 3 + Outtakes from voice actors and cimically brainstorming of the writers about random stuff in the ME Universe, just for the lolz and complete Mass Effect soundtracks
-In-Game Boni: Possibly one special Complete Hard Suit with good stats and good looking (read awesome looking!)
-HC Documentary/Artbook on the invention and evolution of the Mass Effect Universe Possibly 150-200+ pages
-Tali's Head Replica whose facemask can be dismounted to reveal a digital photo display with SD slot to show ones own photos whenever you "unmask Tali" (preferably pre-filled with Tali's Face meme photoshops from fans AND devs alike!)
I think that would make a VERY decent Ultimate Edition!

And before anyone goes ranting on me, you ought to know that I am currently in the middle of a ME1 femshep play-through, which I intend to import to ME2 afterward. I have nothing against femshep or femshep players. That said, all of the whiny, nagging complaints about how femshep isn't in the marketing has gotten seriously beyond old, tired, and worn out.
Sorry for going off-topic.

Maybe bioware could make a remote control statue of a helmet shooting a gun!
Seriously though, here's my idea. It's probable that nobody will like it, but here goes...
A digital picture frame, maybe made to look like an ME datapad or the picture frame in Shep's quarters, loaded with super high-quality renders off all squad-mates and some other important characters (Think the "fight for the lost" videos for quality). And maybe it could come with a usb cable so that interfaces with your game save to do an "honor the fallen" type of thing with dead characters. For example, if you left Kaiden on Virmire it could have text at the bottom readin "Kaiden Alenko 2162-2185" or whatever year it was supposed to be. Possibly do images with Shep and his/her LI together as well. Maybe a few crew shots as well, like the SR1 crew on the bridge or something similar.
Anyway, that's my idea. I hope you like it. If not, I don't really need to know. <_<

I wish everyone would stop complaining about "sheploo". That's the default design for the franchise's main character. Game cover, previews, articles, etc. It's ALWAYS sheploo. Stop whining and deal with it.
Are people complaining that they've chosen a man as the canon shepard, or the fact that they've chosen a specific face for him? Seems a bit pointless either way. To be honest I think Vanderloo's face fits the character fine, I've never bothered trying to customise it (unlike DA:O, where it took me nearly half an hour before I created a face that I was happy with

I used Vanderloo's face for my Shepard during my first playthroughs of ME2. I've since configured Shepard on both my boxes and he now bears a resemblance to President Barack Obama. And I agree, Vanderloo is fine as the default male Shepard.
