You can definitely preorder the game online from Gamestop's web site.  I've already preordered my two copies from Amazon.

I suspect a bean counter pulled back on the uber-edition plans. BioWare was really silent about it after the initial poll.

I cannot wait to get my reskinned ME2 Locust, Eviscerator, Incisor, and Phalanx weaponry in my Collector Edition! Plus I get a Robodog and see Liara in her Colossus Armor! What more could you ask for! /end sarcasm.

Really Bioware? These items better work entirely different then the current weapons or I will burn with the fury of 9001 suns! Though I am glad you decided to have the art book, that is much appreciated. You have my thanks for that.

Does anyone know if the collectors edition is available for preorder anywhere in the UK currently? i can't find a collectors edition preorder anywhere except for the digital delux PC pre order on EA's Origin store.

Well I have bad news, I wondered the exact same thing: "What about the Ultimate/Uber Collector's Edition?"

I asked Manveer Heir (Designer) through Twitter:

- Me: "I would like to know if an Uber Collector's Edition is going to be released. If you reply would appreaciate it deeply! "

- Manveer: "that version isn't uber enough?"

- Me: "haha Die Hards simply gotta' have the best of the best. I asked because @RayMuzyka teased an "Ultimate Edition" a while ago."

- Manveer: "I think it's the same thing we're talking about just different name. If anything more is planned I know nothing about it"

- Me: "Got it!Thanks a lot 4 the info and 4 the wonderful job You and the Team have done so far on #MassEffect 3 .Pre-ordering CE Now!"

So there you go for now the recently announced CE is the best Edition available, kind of a bummer as many of Us were expecting a really awesome Edition priced at about $150.

Its a pretty good collectors edition, but i find myself quite disappointed to see the last mass effect game end without an uber edition. i am a little sad that there is no real statue/model/dog tags.... i guess material merchandise is not their priority. also.... WHAT IS WITH THE MECH DOG? I WANT URZ!!! in conclusion, pretty good for the price, but it lacks the uber conclusive mass effect touch for ME3.

...Seriously Bioware? No, this version is NOT uber enough. You said we were getting something that rivals the Modern Warfare NV goggles or Halo 3 helmet. Nothing in this collector's edition remotely approaches that level of awesomeness. The lithograph and patch is nice, but WHERE'S OUR UBER COLLECTOR'S ITEM??!!!

Pretty much every retailer should have it, if it doesnt sell out in pre-order like ME2 did in a lot of places.
